Mahindra Scorpio-N Goes 'All-Black': Carbon Edition Launched At 19.19 Lakh

Mahindra Automotive, which is currently the largest SUV manufacturer in India, has managed to sell more than 2 lakh units of the super popular SUV, the Scorpio-N. So, in order to commemorate this milestone, Mahindra has launched the all-new Scorpio-N Carbon Edition. This new edition of the Scorpio-N features a blacked-out exterior and interior. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon Edition starts at Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom), and it is based on the top-spec Z8 and Z8L variants.

Pricing

First off, let's talk about the pricing of the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition. As mentioned above, the new Carbon Edition is based on the Z8 and Z8L trims of the SUV, and it only comes in the 7-seater option. Pricing starts at Rs 19.19 lakh for the Z8 Petrol MT variant and goes all the way up to Rs 24.89 lakh for the Z8L Diesel AT variant. The price increase over the standard model is Rs 20,000.

Exterior Changes

Now, coming to the main highlight of the new Scorpio-N Carbon Edition. It looks exactly the same as the standard model in terms of overall design. However, to justify the Carbon Edition badge, the SUV gets gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels, which are finished in diamond-cut in the standard model.

Apart from that, the new model also gets black window garnish and blacked-out roof rails. Other exterior changes include dark grey front and rear skid plates, which are silver in the standard SUV. It also gets dark grey door cladding, dark chrome accents on door handles, and blacked-out ORVMs.

Interior Updates

As for the interior, the Mahindra Scorpio-N gets an all-black interior with contrast stitching. The standard vehicle comes with a Mocha brown and black dual-tone configuration. However, the Carbon Edition gets black leatherette seats. It also gets brushed aluminum trim around the AC vents and the touchscreen infotainment system.

Features

As for the features, the Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon Edition does not get any new features. It continues to get the same 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, 12-speaker Sony premium sound system, and single-pane electric sunroof.

It also gets a wireless phone charger, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and automatic headlights and wipers. In terms of safety features, the Scorpio-N comes with six airbags, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, hill hold, driver drowsiness detection, and others.

Powertrain Options

Mahindra has also not changed anything under the bonnet of the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition. This SUV comes equipped with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is capable of producing 203 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission. And with the 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox, it makes 380 Nm. The petrol engine option only comes with a rear-wheel drive configuration.

Meanwhile, the other engine option is a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which makes 175 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque with the 6-speed manual gearbox. As for the 6-speed torque converter automatic, it makes 380 Nm. The diesel engine option comes with 4X4 as well as rear-wheel drive configurations.
