Mahindra Scorpio-N Gets Updated With Thar ROXX Features [Video]

After a long wait, Mahindra has finally launched the 5 door Thar or Thar Roxx. Surprisingly, the off road focused SUV now comes loaded with high end features. With the price point of the Thar Roxx reaching upwards of Rs. 20 lakhs, it enters the Scorpio N Z8 trim category. Today, we will cover top spec Z8L Scorpio N which has been updated with Thar Roxx features.

The car is shown in a YouTube video uploaded by Fuel Injected. The Scorpio N shown in the video is white colored top Z8L trim. The host starts the video by mentioning that the new features are introduced in the Z8 lineup which includes the Z8 Select, Z8 and the Z8 Luxury Line trims. Furthermore, there has been no increase in the price. The price of the Z8 lineup of trims starts at Rs. 17.19 lakh and goes up to Rs. 24.54 lakh.

Now, let’s talk about the updates –

The changes in the Z8 Select and Z8 trim includes a wireless charger and glossy black center console while the Z8L has been loaded with advanced features such as front ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM and a wireless charger. Other than these additions, the SUV is exactly the same.

The front of the SUV gets dual projector LED headlamps with LED fog lamps that also incorporate the DRLs. The turn signals are also dynamic. The grille gets chrome inserts with upper chrome lip. Features in the front fascia include front parking camera with four parking sensors. However, there is no 360 degree camera on offer.

The side profile gets 18 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. As it is the top trim, it comes with all the features such as keyless entry, electric adjusting/folding ORVMs, roof rails and much more. Same is the case with rear, which gets wiper with washer, defogger, spoiler, high mount stop lamp and a reverse parking camera with sensors.

The cabin of the Scorpio N is finished in black and tan with tan leather at multiple places to add a sense of premium-ness. Features in the cabin include a single pane sunroof, 8 inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity, steering mounted multimedia controls, cruise control, dual zone and automatic climate control, 6 way powered driver seat, 12 speaker music system and much more.

The Scorpio N is offered with a petrol engine and a diesel engine. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre unit that produces 173 hp and 400 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the petrol engine is a 2.0-litre turbo unit that produces 203 hp and 380 Nm of torque.

These engine options can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Z8 and the Z8L diesel can also be opted with a 4WD system.

In the Indian market, the Scorpio N rivals with Tata Harrier, Hyundai Alcazar, Toyota Innova Hycross, Jeep Compass, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 700, the newly launched Mahindra Thar Roxx and the upcoming 7 seater versions of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
