Mahindra Thar ROXX Mocha Brown Interiors: Deliveries Commence (Video)
Mahindra has started deliveries of the much-awaited Mocha brown interior variants of the Thar ROXX. The five-door Thar was launched in August last year and the deliveries started during Dussehra. At launch, the interior had an Ivory colourway. A second cabin colourway- Mocha Brown- was soon announced for the range-topping 4x4 variants, deliveries of which have begun now. Thar ROXX With Mocha Brown Interior- Video Review
The video starts by showing the YouTuber taking delivery of his brand-new Thar ROXX AX7L finished in Nebula Blue. Later in it, the host gives a detailed tour and review of the vehicle.
Almost everything inside remains identical to what you see on a regular Thar ROXX. The cabin colourway is the only change. Everything from the door pads to the dashboard and seats is finished in a shade of Brown called Mocha Brown, with touches of Dark Grey in between. You will also find Grey stitches in various areas of design.
The dark colourway looks stylish and upmarket. It also increases the practicality, as offroading and other hardcore uses of the vehicle will hardly get its interior dirty.
Interestingly, the roof liner is finished in a light colour. You could get it dirty and stained if you aren't careful enough on your off-road adventures. The upside, however, is that the light-coloured roof liner doesn't let the cabin heat up as much as a darker shade would have done.
Mahindra Thar ROXX Has A Long List Of Features
Mahindra has packed the Thar ROXX with features and technology. When you get inside one, you'll instantly notice the massive panoramic sunroof. Mahindra claims this to be the largest in segment. The SUV also gets 10.25-inch screens- one for the infotainment and the other for instrumentation.
Other features include an automatic climate control system, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, auto headlight and wipers, electric parking brake, 9-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio, 360 camera, ventilated seats , powered 6-way adjustable driver's seat, a wireless charging pad, and even level 2 ADAS.
Thar ROXX Specifications
The Thar ROXX is based on Mahindra's new M-GLYDE platform (fourth generation platform which is a derivative of the Scorpio-N's third-gen chassis). It offer the choice of two engines- a 2.0L turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L diesel. These are the same powertrains that we get to see on the Scorpio-N as well.
The 2.2L mHawk diesel engine produces 170 hp and 370 Nm while the petrol units makes 150bhp and 380 Nm. A 6-speed manual and 6 speed automatic can be had as transmissions. The top-spec also gets Smart Crawl and Intelli-Turn functions, for improved off-road performance.
Thar ROXX Price- Mocha Brown Variants
The Mocha Brown interior colourway comes only on 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) variants. This means that only diesel engine can be had on Mocha variants. The AX5 L (AT) 4WD with Mocha Interiors has an ex-showroom price of 21.09 lakh. The range-topping AX7L (AT) 4WD with Mocha interior colourway costs 23.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
And for the waiting period, it will depend on the variants and colours you choose. At the time of writing this article, some customers report up to 18 months in (general) waiting span, while others are able to take delivery in a matter of days or weeks. It depends on your preferred city, stock availability and the variants you choose. It is the best to check with your nearest dealer to get more clarity on this.
