Mahindra Thar Roxx 5 Door 4X4 SUV: What It Looks Like From The Side

Mahindra will officially launch the all-new Thar Roxx in the Indian market on August 15. The Indian SUV manufacturer has been releasing teaser videos and images of the SUV for the last week. They even revealed the official name of the Thar 5-door recently. While we got a glimpse of the SUV in the recent promo video, here we have a clear picture of the SUV, which we believe was taken during the video shoot.
The images have been shared by Rushlane on their website. In this newly leaked image, we see the side profile of the upcoming Thar Roxx. It looks like the image was taken somewhere in the mountains of North India. The black-colored SUV clearly shows the side profile. We believe the image was captured when Mahindra was probably shooting an official video for the Thar Roxx.
The Roxx seen here is the top-end variant with all the bells and whistles. The recent image gives us a good idea about the vehicle’s length. The Thar Roxx has a longer wheelbase compared to the three-door version. This was done to accommodate the second-row seats and the two doors to access them. In fact, the Thar Roxx is 300 mm longer than the three-door model.
The alloy wheel design on the Thar Roxx looks different from the three-door version. It is finished in dual-tone, giving it a more premium look rather than a rugged one. The Thar Roxx gets a front grille derived from the three-door version. It is now more complex than before. The headlamps are round and are projector units with horseshoe-shaped LED DRLs.
The rugged-looking front bumper with integrated LED fog lamps has very little overhang at the front and rear, which means the Roxx will have good approach and departure angles. The Thar Roxx also has decent ground clearance, and there is a footboard that runs between the front and rear wheels of the SUV.
There is not one but two or more Mahindra Thar vehicles, which makes us believe that they were definitely shooting the TVC. The rear quarter glass of the SUV has a triangular design, and the SUV will only be offered with a hardtop. The rear door handles are integrated into the pillars for a clean look.
Mahindra will offer ivory or ice-grey-colored interiors for the Thar Roxx. We recently saw a video where we got to see the interiors in detail. The SUV features a larger touchscreen infotainment system (probably the same as the XUV300), a new steering wheel, a twin-pod analog instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, and more.
The SUV even has decent boot space. Mahindra will offer the new Thar Roxx with both petrol and diesel engine options. The lower variants of the SUV will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine.
The higher versions will use a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo diesel and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine. These engines will be tuned differently from the three-door version. Both petrol and diesel variants (higher models) will be offered with manual and automatic transmissions. The SUV will be available in both RWD and 4×4 variants as well.
