At the recently concluded Independence Day, Mahindra Automotive, like every year, brought a number of new concept vehicles. It also showcased its brand-new NU_IQ platform. Of the concepts shown, one of the most talked-about cars was the Mahindra Vision S, which is a small off-roader. The company has now finally revealed the interior of this concept, and it looks very promising. The Vision S interior looks nothing like any other production Mahindra and features a very premium and futuristic design.

First off, let's talk about the design of the Mahindra Vision S. The main highlight of this cabin is the two large 12-inch displays separated by a unique-looking air conditioning vent. The same vent is on the left side of the main touchscreen infotainment screen as well. Most likely, the new Mahindra cars will run the next-gen AdrenoX OS.

Mahindra is ensuring that the new Vision S has more emphasis on non-interactive controls for easier use while driving. We can note that there are a number of physical buttons. Just underneath the infotainment screen are the controls for air conditioning and a few other toggle switches, which give this vehicle's cabin a unique appearance.

Also, the gear lever looks like a traditional lever with leather wrapped around it. The centre console also gets two brushed silver handles and a set of two deep cup holders. We can also note that, on the right side of these cup holders, are the electronic parking brake and a start/stop button.

The Vision S also gets a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a set of sporty-looking seats with Vision S branding on them. Another unique highlight of the Vision S interior is the three-spoke steering wheel with multiple controls and the Vision S logo instead of the Mahindra logo in the middle. The overall blue leather cabin with two yellow straps on the dashboard gives it a premium off-roader appeal.

Is the Mahindra Vision S the new Bolero?

The Mahindra Vision S will have a wheelbase of around 2,665 mm, which is similar to the current Bolero. So it will be very fitting for the brand to launch the Vision S as the new Bolero rather than the baby version of the Scorpio. The current-generation Scorpio is very large, so it is highly unlikely that the Vision S is a Scorpio successor.

Mahindra NU_IQ platform

Mahindra, as mentioned, recently revealed the new NU_IQ platform at the Independence Day event. The new platform is a monocoque chassis featuring a front-wheel-drive layout with AWD capability. It will support petrol, diesel, hybrid, and full-electric powertrains. This platform will serve as the base for multiple body styles and models.

The NU_IQ platform will also offer flexibility for different wheelbases ranging from 3.99 m to 4.3 m. As for the ground clearance, it will be around 227 mm. Mahindra also revealed that it will get five-link independent rear suspension with DaVinci damper tech. The same platform will also help Mahindra in taking on international markets, as it will allow the company to make both LHD (left hand drive) and RHD (right hand drive) cars.
