Mahindra XEV 7E (Electric XUV700) Spotted Charging At A Public Charging Station: Details Here

To take on the recently launched Tata Harrier.ev, Mahindra Automotive is gearing up for the launch of the XEV 7E in India. It will be the electric iteration of the XUV700 and will be offered with an all-wheel-drive system. The XEV 7E has now reached its final production version, and a test mule of this SUV was recently spotted charging at a public electric charger.
In the most recent spy shot, a fully camouflaged Mahindra XEV 7E was spotted charging at a public charger in Hubli, Karnataka. It can be seen in the image that the charging port of this SUV has been positioned at the same place where there would be the traditional fuel filler cap. Apart from this, the vehicle was fully covered, so not much was noted.
The Mahindra XEV 7E looks exactly like the XUV700, but its test mule was spotted with a different set of alloy wheels. These are aeroblade-style wheels, which are generally seen on electric vehicles to reduce drag and improve range efficiency. Prior to this spotting, a few leaked images had already revealed what the XEV 7E will look like in production form.
At the front, the Mahindra XEV 7E will get a front fascia that looks exactly like the XEV 9E, its coupe SUV sibling. It will be offered with a full-width LED light bar at the front, inverted L-shaped DRLs, and a closed-off grille, which is the signature design element of all electric vehicles. The XEV 7E will also get flush-type door handles and a shark fin antenna.
As for the side profile, the SUV will be offered with a set of new 19-inch alloy wheels for the top-of-the-line variant. The overall silhouette will remain the same as the XUV700. Moving to the rear, it will get a redesigned rear bumper, revised C-pillar treatment, a new rear spoiler, and connecting LED taillights.
In terms of the interior design, it will look exactly the same as the XEV 9E. Its main highlight will be the triple-screen layout, including a central infotainment screen, a driver’s display, and an entertainment screen for the front passenger. Other highlights will include a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo and multi-zone climate control.
Additionally, the XEV 7E will come with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with Dolby Atmos, powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, remote parking, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS Level 2, a powered tailgate, and third-row seating. It could be offered in both 6- and 7-seat layouts.
The Mahindra XEV 7E will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform. As for the battery packs, they will most likely remain the same as the XEV 9E and BE 6 — 59 kWh and 79 kWh. What will make the XEV 7E special is that it could get a dual-motor setup, which will help it offer all-wheel-drive capabilities.
Reportedly, the dual-motor setup will provide a power output of 325 to 350 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. There might also be dedicated off-road modes as well. In terms of range, the XEV 7E with the 79 kWh battery pack is expected to offer a range of 600 km. It will also support DC fast charging.
At the moment, the launch date has not been revealed. However, it is expected to make its debut around Q1 of 2026. As for pricing, it could be priced in the range of Rs 21–35 lakh. Once launched, its main rival will be the Tata Harrier.ev.
