Mahindra has finally taken the electric vehicle game seriously, and they are gearing up with new and interesting electric vehicles for both Indian and international markets. Mahindra recently launched the BE6 and the XEV 9E electric SUVs in the market. Bookings and deliveries of both these electric SUVs will start in the coming month. We also know that Mahindra is working on an electric version of their popular premium SUV, the XUV700. The upcoming EV has been spotted testing on the road several times, and we now have a spy video that shows how the production-spec version of the XUV700 Electric and XEV 7E would look.

The video has been shared by Dhruv Attri on their Instagram page. It appears to be an animated video of the production version of the XUV700 Electric or XEV 7E, which is the electric version of the popular XUV700 SUV. In this video, we see the exterior and interior of the upcoming EV. The Mahindra XEV 7E’s front looks very similar to the XEV 9E electric SUV.

It features an LED bar that runs across the width of the car. The welcome bar at the front connects to the drop-down LED DRLs. The headlamps are all LED, and the cluster has a triangular design. Apart from the front, everything else on the outside resembles the existing XUV700 SUV. We see the closed front grille and redesigned bumpers at the front and rear in this video.

Coming to the side profile, the SUV gets all-new alloy wheels. The wheels are designed to reduce drag and improve efficiency. The SUV will also use low-resistance tires for better range. The video gives us a glimpse of the rear of the XUV700 Electric, and it looks like the tail lamp design remains unchanged.

It might get LED elements, but other than that, everything remains the same. We also see the electric SUV in a midnight blue shade in this video. It is quite possible that the video shown here is just for demo purposes or internal use by Mahindra. The interior of the XUV700 Electric also looks promising.

The SUV features a premium-looking cabin with a triple-screen setup, Mahindra’s new steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center, and airplane-style captain seats for front and second-row passengers. It is a three-row SUV, just like the ICE version.

We expect premium features such as multi-zone climate control, seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof or infinity glass roof with dynamic lights, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), leatherette upholstery, a 360-degree camera, a premium audio system, and electrically adjustable seats with a memory function, among others.

At the moment, there is no information available regarding the battery pack and driving range of the upcoming SUV. We are assuming that Mahindra will offer the same 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs as the BE6 and XEV 9E. The SUV is expected to offer a certified driving range of 650 km.

Mahindra is yet to announce an official timeline for the launch of the XEV 7E. However, looking at the way things are progressing, our guess is that the SUV will be launched in the second half of 2025. The Mahindra XEV 7E or XUV700 Electric will directly compete with the Safari Electric, which is set to launch in the market this year.
