Upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e (XUV700 EV) Electric SUV Detailed On Video

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 have both been hits in the Indian market. The Indian carmaker is known to be working on an all-electric version of the XUV 700. Likely to be called the XEV 7e upon launch, this vehicle is now nearing its final production form. We spotted the test mules of this vehicle at the Mahindra Research Valley, during the BE 6 and XEV 9e drives, last year. Now, a video shared on the YouTube channel Her Garage shows the XEV 7e in detail.

In the beginning, the host calls it the XUV 700 facelift instead of the XEV 7e (or even XUV 700 EV), but later goes on to say that this is probably the electric version that could be called XEV 7e on launch. The XUV 700 is already due for a major update and the new facelift could draw design inspiration from this vehicle.
She explains both the exterior and interior designs of the XEV 7e. In terms of design, it seems to share a lot with the XEV 9e. The 9e, is in essence, an electric coupe form of the XUV 500. Thus, the resemblance is justified. The triangular headlamp setup, grille and front bumper resemble those on the 9e with their design. You also get to see Copper finishes inside the headlamps and various other places. The grille has a closed-off design. The rear design stands close to that of the XUV 700.
The host also shows the interior of the SUV. On the inside, there is a strong resemblance to that of the XEV 9e. You can see the triple-screen setup inside the EV SUV as well. This setup is also seen on the 9e. The materials, fit and finish on the inside are also comparable to the EV coupe. The feature list could remain identical. There would be an ADAS suite offered as well.
The XEV 9e comes with a fixed glass roof, while the prototypes suggest that the XEV 7e would feature a normal panoramic sunroof, like the regular XUV 700. Another possible change could be the audio system. The XUV 700 gets a coloured Sony audio system with immersive 3D surround. However, on the XEV 7e, it could likely be replaced with the 1,400-Watt 16-speaker Harman Kardon Music System with Dolby Atmos that is also found on the XEV 9e and BE 6.
The XEV 7e will be underpinned by the INGLO platform. Adhering to international benchmarks, this EV architecture has been made in India for the world. Two battery packs will likely be offered on the 7e as well- 59 kWh and 79 kWh. It could offer a range of up to 650 km. The XUV 700 gets an FWD layout. The Electric Origin SUVs- BE 6 and XEV 9e, on the other hand, feature RWD layouts. So, it remains to be seen if Mahindra would offer RWD or FWD on the XEV 7e, especially after we have come across so many crashes involving the 9e and BE 6.
Some reports also suggest that The XEV 7e could come with a dual-motor AWD system. This would be able to produce 350 bhp and 450 Nm! It will then make this vehicle Mahindra’s most powerful electric SUV. It will likely have a significantly better 0-100 kph time than the BE 6 and XEV 9e. This also means that the 7e could sit above the 9e with its pricing!
