Exterior design

Mahindra has worked extensively on the exterior design of the XEV 9E. This SUV, which currently sits on top of the smaller BE 6, boasts a very macho yet stylish appearance. It gets a closed-off grille, split LED headlight setup, and a beautiful coupe-like sloping roofline.

Mahindra’s XEV 9E Pack 1 variant will come equipped with the connecting LED DRL, an illuminated Mahindra Infinity logo on the bonnet, 19-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, and connected LED taillights at the rear. The top-spec Pack 3 variant will come offered with bigger 20-inch alloy wheels.

Interior design and features

Moving on to the interior of the XEV 9E electric SUV, it will come equipped with the same cabin layout as the Pack 3 variant. The main highlight of the XEV 9E is the massive triple-screen layout on the dashboard. All three screens measure 12.3 inches, where the center screen is for the cabin infotainment, the left screen is for the front passenger, and the one on the right is the digital instrument gauge cluster for the driver.

All three screens will come powered by MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture). The Pack 1 variant will also feature wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also get pre-installed OTT applications. Apart from these, the Pack 1 variant will also come equipped with a decent 4-speaker and 2-tweeter audio system and fabric upholstery.

The Mahindra XEV 9E, like the BE 6, will also be offered with two battery pack options — 59 kWh and 79 kWh. However, it should be noted that the base Pack 1 variant of the XEV 9E will only be offered with the smaller 59 kWh battery pack. According to Mahindra, it will offer a range of 542 km on a single full charge. The 79 kWh battery pack, on the other hand, offers 656 km of range.

Powering the XEV 9E Pack 1 will be an electric motor that produces 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The fun part is that all the power will be sent to the rear wheels. The higher-spec variants, on the other hand, offer a 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque-producing electric motor.
