The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been a less-talked-about hit in the Indian market. In May alone, it sold 7,952 units. It posted sales of over one lakh units within a year of launch. This is the fastest any Mahindra SUV has done the same. The manufacturer chose to celebrate the achievement by launching a new variant lineup on the SUV- the RevX. The ex-showroom prices for the XUV 3XO RevX start at Rs 8.94 lakh and go up to 12.99 lakh. The new trim line is available only with the petrol engine.

A Closer Look At The RevX Series: Variants And Prices

The RevX series offers four variants- M, M(O), A MT and A AT. Mahindra has based the RevX M on the MX2 trim, but with more features and a better design. The RevX A has the mid-spec AX5 variant as its base but gets a more powerful engine.

On the pricing front, the RevX M is more affordable than the MX2 Pro by Rs 60,000. Even the RevX M(O) sits below the MX2 Pro with its price. Both the M and M(O) variants of the RevX are powered by the 111hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It comes just with a manual transmission.

The RevX A on the other hand, is more expensive than the variant it is based on. It costs Rs 60,000 more than the AX5. The premium is almost justified by the additional features that the RevX offers.

It comes with the 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that makes 131 hp. The RevX series thus makes this engine more approachable, as it was previously available only from the AX5L variant which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.62 lakh. The REVX A MT has an ex-showroom price of Rs 11.79 lakh, meaning that the engine is now more accessible by about Rs 83,000.

Here are the variant-wise (ex-showroom) prices of the RevX lineup:

  • REVX M – Rs 8.94 lakh
  • REVX M(O) – Rs 9.44 lakh
  • REVX A MT – Rs 11.79 lakh
  • REVX A AT – Rs 12.99 lakh

RevX: What Are The Changes?

Differentiating it from the regular 3XO, the RevX gets a bunch of styling changes. It gets multiple RevX badges, 16-inch wheels that wear Black ( RevX A gets alloys while the M gets steel wheels with wheel covers), body coloured grille, and a dual-tone colourway. The RevX series offers five colour options- Tango Red, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Nebula Blue and Stealth Black. The first three come with Black roof, while the rest get Grey as their roof colours.

Inside, all RevX variants get Black leatherette upholstery. This gives the cabin dual-tone aesthetics. In addition to what's offered on the MX2, the revX M gets driver’s seat height adjustment, adjustable headrests for rear passengers and a rear armrest with integrated cup holders. The RevX M(O) comes with a single-pane sunroof as well.

The RevX A's feature list remains identical to that of the AX5 variant of the regular SUV. The only change would be the addition of a panoramic sunroof.

The safety features on all RevX variants remain identical to those on the corresponding trim lines of the regular SUV. Standard features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold, and four disc brakes.

Since they aren't based on the range-topping variants, the RevX series misses out on features like level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, electronic parking brake and a cooled glove box. Many of these are available on the AX5L variant and above.

The launch of the RevX. series has given buyers in this segment more options to choose from. It has also made the 3XO more stylish and better-kitted, making it appeal to a larger buyer crowd within the sub-15 lakh segment.
