Mahindra XUV.e8 (XUV700 Electric) Spied Testing: Global Debut On November 26th

After the successful launch of the Thar Roxx or Thar 5-door, Mahindra has once again started focusing on its electric vehicle development. We know that the Indian manufacturer is working on a variety of new electric vehicles for India as well as the international market. Mahindra will be launching electric versions of existing ICE models as well as all-new electric vehicles in the Indian market. One such upcoming EV from Mahindra is the XUV.e8. It is the electric version of the Mahindra XUV700, and it was recently spotted testing on our roads ahead of its global debut.
The images have been shared by MotorBeam on their Instagram page. We see a set of images where we see the fully camouflaged XUV.e8 electric SUV on the road. As per the reports, the global debut of the XUV.e8 is scheduled for 26th November. The electric SUV seen here in the images looks production-ready.
We see the front, side, and rear of the SUV. The front fascia of the Mahindra XUV.e8 is different from the ICE version of the SUV. It gets drop-down dual-function LED DRLs with dual-barrel LED headlamps. We also see an LED connecting bar at the front that runs across the width of the car.
The SUV gets a closed front grille with an open airdam at the bottom. The exterior design of the SUV is very similar to the XUV700, with only minor EV-specific changes. The side profile of the SUV reveals flush-fitting smart door handles and alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design. The SUV also comes with all-LED tail lamps. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a connecting LED bar on the tailgate of the SUV.
On the inside, Mahindra will be offering a revised cabin. The SUV will be offered with a triple-screen setup. Mahindra is likely to offer a new UI for their electric vehicles, which is expected to feature a red theme. There will be a fully digital instrument cluster, a multi-function steering wheel, and two touchscreen infotainment screens on the dashboard.
The steering wheel on the XUV.e8 or XUV700 electric is going to be different from the ICE version. It is expected to get a twin-spoke steering wheel with flat top and bottom sections. We would also see the Mahindra logo in the center. Mahindra will offer premium features like a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable front seats, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
The Mahindra XUV.e8 is based on the INGLO skateboard platform. While it may look similar to the XUV700, it is an all-new product. The Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to come with an 80 kWh battery pack. Reports have stated that it could also get an all-wheel-drive system with a dual-motor setup.
Mahindra is expected to offer multiple battery pack and motor options, and depending on the variants, the range and power of the car would differ. However, it is expected to offer a driving range of 450-500 km.
This is going to be a premium SUV and is expected to be priced somewhere around the Rs 35-40 lakh bracket. Mahindra is known to price its products aggressively, and we are expecting a similar strategy in the case of this EV too.
