Mahindra Automotive recently launched a new variant of its immensely popular SUV, the XUV700, in India. It is called the XUV700 AX5 Select. It sits between the AX3 and AX5 variants. This particular variant is Rs 2.5 lakh cheaper than the AX5 variant. Recently, a video showing all of the differences between these two models has been shared online.

This video, highlighting the differences between the XUV700 AX5 and AX5 Select, has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Avtansh Singh. This video starts with the vlogger introducing both the cars. He mentions that he will be showing all the major differences between these two variants that look almost identical from the outside.

XUV700 AX5 Select vs. AX5

Front

Following the introduction of the two cars, the vlogger starts with the major differences at the front of them. From the video, it can be noted that the XUV700 AX5 comes with an all-LED headlight setup. However, the AX5 Select variant comes with halogen bulbs for the main headlights.

It does, however, get the same LED DRLs. Apart from this, he highlights that this AX5 Select variant also misses out on LED fog lights and sequential turn indicators. Both of these features are offered with the more expensive AX5 variant. Apart from these, both look exactly the same.

Side profile

Next up, the vlogger shows the side profile of the two SUVs. He states that the biggest and the only difference is the offering of the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The AX5 variant comes with these alloy wheels from the factory. However, the AX5 Select misses out on these. The rest of the design is identical.

Rear

Moving to the rear end, the vlogger states that there is no noticeable difference. Both the AX5 and AX5 Select variants come with a high-mounted stop lamp, shark fin antenna, roof rails, spoiler, rear wiper, washer, and defogger. They even get the exact same AX5 badges in the lower right corner of the tailgate.

XUV700 Interior: AX5 vs. AX5 Select

Following the differences of the exterior, the vlogger moves inside and highlights the major difference between these two cars. He states that the AX5 Select variant, which he is filming, comes with a push-button start feature. However, the AX5 present at the moment does not come with it.

He then highlights that the company, however, has started offering this feature in the updated AX5. But those have not started arriving at the dealerships as of yet. Next up, he adds that both cars come with a dual 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and digital instrument gauge cluster.

They both also come with a panoramic sunroof and manual air conditioning system. The major difference between these variants is that the AX5 Select comes only with 4 airbags, but the AX5 variant comes with 6 (curtain airbags extra). The AX5 variant also comes with a rear camera, which the Select variant misses out on.

XUV700 Select Engine and price

Coming to the powertrain, he mentions that both of these cars present here get the same 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that makes 182 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. Both get 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

As for the price, the vlogger mentions that the XUV700 AX5 Select is priced at Rs 20.5 lakh on the road. Meanwhile, the AX5 is priced at Rs 2.75 lakh. As per the vlogger, it is a very value-for-money variant.
