Most Affordable 7 Seat Mahindra XUV700 In A Walkaround Video
Mahindra recently added two new variants to the XUV 700 lineup. These variants named MX 7-seater and the AX5 Select are available available in 7-seater configuration only. The MX is the base variant while the AX5 Select is the mid-spec trim. Today, via a YouTube video uploaded by Auto Era, we will cover and talk about the MX 7-seater variant in detail.
With the launch of the MX 7-seater, Mahindra has intensified the competition even further. The XUV 700 is now one of the most affordable 7-seater SUVs in the Indian market. The MX 5-seater version costs Rs. 13.99 lakhs ex-showroom while the MX 7-seater version comes at a premium of Rs. 50,000 costing Rs. 14.49 lakhs ex-showroom. If you want to buy the diesel engine, you will have to pay Rs. 50,000 more.
The video starts with the host showing the third row of seats. This variant features bench seats on both the second and third row. The front profile of the car features halogen reflector based headlights. Being the base variant, features such as fog lights and DRLs are not expected. The grille is finished in gloss black with silver accents.
The car drives on 17-inch steel rims. Unlike other cars in the segment, the XUV 700 offers body colored door handles, body colored ORVMs and ORVMs with integrated turn signals from the base trim itself.
The cabin of this trim is quite different from higher trims. The MX variant comes with a dual dial analog cluster with a digital display. The higher variants of the SUV offer a 10.25-inch display as the instrument cluster. The infotainment system is a 7-inch unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The interior is finished in a theme of cream and black with silver accents. Soft touch materials are missing in this variant. Other features which are not offered in the MX trim include auto AC, cruise control, glossy black elements, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear wiper with washer and defogger. The third row of the car can be folded in the ratio of 50:50.
Amenities in the third row include AC vents with fan speed control, cup holders and a 12V socket. Talking about the seating comfort, he mentions that lack of thigh support is evident here.
Mahindra offers the XUV 700 with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which delivers 197 BHP of power and 380 Nm of torque.
Alternatively, consumers can opt for the 2.2-litre diesel engine, available in two tunes: 153 BHP (lower variants) and 182 BHP (higher variants). This engine generates a torque output ranging from 360 Nm to 450 Nm, depending on the transmission chosen. The MX variant is offered with the less powerful version of this engine producing 153 BHP.
Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the automatic transmission is not offered in the MX trim.
