Mahindra XUV700’s Most Affordable Automatic Variant Coming Soon: Details

The immensely popular SUV manufacturing giant Mahindra Automotive is gearing up to expand its flagship SUV, the XUV700’s lineup. It will soon introduce the most affordable automatic variant of the XUV700, the MX AT. This new addition will bring down the cost for an automatic XUV700 by a significant amount. Currently, the most affordable Mahindra XUV700 AT variant is the AX3 AT, priced at Rs 18.19 lakh.
The XUV700 MX AT variant is being specifically introduced to target customers who prefer the convenience of an automatic transmission at an affordable price bracket. Currently, the XUV700 MX variant is available with a 6-speed manual transmission across both petrol and diesel engines. Thanks to the launch of the new MX 7-seater variant, it is now offered in both 5 and 7-seat configurations.
As per the reports, the upcoming MX AT will exclusively feature a 5-seater petrol configuration. Also, the new automatic variant is expected to be powered by the 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 200 PS and 380 Nm of torque.
At the moment, the company has not announced the exact pricing of this variant; however, it is being anticipated that it could command a premium of approximately Rs 1.80 lakh over the current manual version, which starts at Rs 14 lakh.
The XUV700 MX AT variant will come equipped with the same comprehensive range of features found in the manual variant. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and Android Auto. It will also get multiple USB ports, rear AC vents, and tilt-adjustable steering.
Exterior features will include smart door handles, full-sized wheel covers, and arrow-head LED tail lamps. In terms of safety, the MX AT variant will be offered with 2 airbags, electronic stability control, speed-sensitive door locks, and ISOFIX. Other details on the XUV700 MX Automatic will be revealed in the coming period.
Just a few weeks ago, Mahindra also expanded the XUV700 lineup with the introduction of the MX 7-seater variant. Priced at Rs 15 lakh, this entry-level model was launched to offer an affordable option for families needing extra seating capacity.
The 7-seater MX variant retains the same exterior design and features as the 5-seater model, including halogen headlights, a gloss black grille, and 17-inch silver steel wheels. The interior has also remained the same as it features the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and powered ORVMs.
In addition to the MX variants, Mahindra also launched the AX5 Select variant. This new variant has been launched with a price tag of Rs 16.89 lakh. It has been positioned between the AX3 and AX5 trims. Additionally, it only comes available in a seven-seater layout.
From the outside, it looks exactly like the more expensive AX5 variant. And on the inside, it retains a number of features from this variant as well. The list of these features includes the panoramic sunroof, also called the Skyroof, dual connected 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and digital cluster screens.
