Maruti Suzuki has just launched a new edition of their popular sub-4 meter SUV, the Brezza, in the market called the Urbano Edition. The Maruti Brezza is one of the most popular SUVs in its segment, competing with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3X0. The upcoming Urbano Edition is based on the LXI and VXI variants of the Brezza SUV.

Brezza Urbano Edition

The Urbano Edition is essentially an accessorized version of the Brezza. These new additions aim to make the SUV more attractive to buyers looking to purchase the lower variants. Typically, we have seen people buy lower variants and then opt for aftermarket accessories. With this new Urbano Edition, Maruti aims to address this issue.

As part of the Urbano package, the LXI variant of the Brezza will get utility accessories like a rear parking camera for multimedia, a touchscreen stereo, speakers, and fog lamps. The styling accessories include a fog lamp garnish, skid plates for both the front and rear bumpers, front grille chrome garnish, body side molding, and a wheel arch kit.

The VXI variant of the Brezza gets a rear parking camera (OE) and fog lamps as utility accessories. In terms of styling accessories, the VXI variant gets a dashboard upgrade, body side molding, wheel arch kit, protective sill guard (metal), number plate frame, and 3D floor mats.

Urbano Edition accessories

According to reports available online, the cost of accessories provided in the LXI Urbano Edition package is worth Rs 52,370 when bought separately and would cost Rs 42,000 if bought as a kit. However, in this case, these accessories are being offered under the Urbano Edition package for just Rs 15,000. This way, the customer can save Rs 27,000.

Similarly, the VXI Urbano Edition package costs Rs 26,149 if bought separately and would cost Rs 18,500 as a kit. The same accessories will be provided to the customer at a nominal cost of Rs 3,500. The customer can save Rs 15,000 on this package. Maruti is expected to offer this Urbano Edition package with both petrol and CNG options. The price for the Maruti Brezza LXI variant is Rs 8.34 lakh, ex-showroom, for the petrol MT version and Rs 9.29 lakh for the CNG MT variant (all prices ex-showroom).

As for the VXI variant, the petrol MT variant is priced at Rs 9.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The VXI petrol AT variant costs Rs 11.09 lakh, ex-showroom, and the CNG variant is priced at Rs 10.64 lakh, ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki launched the current version of the Brezza in the market a few years ago. Previously, the Brezza was offered only with a diesel engine. As part of the BS6 transition, Maruti discontinued the diesel engine and started offering a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The petrol engine in the car is Maruti’s K15C DualJet series engine, which generates 101 Bhp and 136 Nm of torque in the petrol version. The same engine generates 87 Bhp and 121 Nm of peak torque in the CNG version.

The CNG version generates less power as the engine is usually tuned for fuel efficiency. The petrol version of the Maruti Brezza comes with a 5-speed manual and a proper 6-speed automatic transmission. The all-new Urbano Edition package is expected to reach dealerships soon.
