Maruti Suzuki Dzire is one of the most popular sedans in the sub-4-meter segment. It is well-known in both private and commercial segments. Last year, we got the updated or all-new Maruti Dzire, and unlike the previous-generation models, the new-generation Swift is much safer, as proven by the Global NCAP crash test results. It looks like Maruti is now planning to introduce the new-generation Swift to the cab segment.

As per recent reports, Maruti is planning to introduce the new-generation Dzire into the commercial segment. When the official launch happens, Dzire will be the first sedan or cab in the segment to be a 5-star-rated car. Maruti will officially offer the new Dzire in the TourS form, gradually replacing the older-generation model.

Maruti Suzuki will sell the Dzire TourS via Arena dealerships, and according to V3Cars, the Dzire TourS will be offered in both petrol and CNG fuel options. The price for the petrol version will start at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CNG version will cost around Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom).

Compared to the outgoing version of the Dzire TourS, the new one is Rs 23,000 more expensive. The upcoming Dzire TourS petrol version will be slightly cheaper than the base LXi version, while the CNG version will also be more affordable than the VXi CNG version.

The new Dzire TourS is expected to be a great car for the commercial segment because it is extremely fuel-efficient. Maruti Suzuki offers an all-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Z-series petrol engine with the Maruti Dzire. This engine is tuned for city driving and delivers power without compromising efficiency.

Maruti might offer only basic features with the TourS version of the Dzire. These include features like six airbags, which are now standard equipment, halogen projector headlamps, power windows for all passengers, a shark-fin antenna, remote central locking, and more. It might also include a basic music system with the TourS variant.

The claimed fuel efficiency of the Dzire is 24.79 kmpl for the petrol version and 33.73 km/kg for the CNG version. The AMT version is not offered with the TourS variant, but it delivers a claimed economy of 25.71 kmpl.

With the TourS, Maruti plans to increase fuel efficiency even further. The TourS variant of the Dzire is likely to have an ARAI-certified economy of 26.06 kmpl for the petrol manual and 34.30 km/kg for the CNG version. Maruti might slightly tune the engine to achieve these figures.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire is usually offered in a white shade; however, reports suggest that the sedan might also be available in a silver shade. As mentioned earlier, the Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine generates 80 Bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. The CNG version of the Dzire generates 69 Bhp and 101 Nm of peak torque. The price for the regular Maruti Dzire sedan starts at Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
