We all know that Maruti sent a few of their models, like the Baleno, Brezza, and Grand Vitara, for the Bharat NCAP crash test. While we know that these cars underwent testing, the manufacturer has not released any data related to the same. There were reports that Maruti would release the results before the assembly election; however, that did not happen. A set of images has now leaked on the internet showing how Maruti’s flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara, performed at the Bharat NCAP.

Watch on YouTube

The images have been shared by Team-Bhp, and a couple of other videos on the same topic are also available online. In these images, we see the Grand Vitara inside the Bharat NCAP facility. The video shared by Prateek Singh also shows the same images, and he mentions that the images were shared with him by one of his followers.

The results, or rather the images, look promising. The images show how the Grand Vitara performed in the offset frontal collision, side collision, and side pole collision tests. It looks like the structure of the Maruti Brezza managed to stay intact in all these tests, thus keeping the occupants safe.

In all these tests, we see that the airbags in the Grand Vitara deployed, which is also a major element that determines the vehicle’s safety score during these tests.

At the moment, there is no clarity on what rating this SUV has received in the test. From the images, we hope that the Grand Vitara will get at least a 4, if not a 5-star rating in the crash test. We are still unsure why Maruti is not releasing the official scores or test results of these SUVs.

In the video shared by Prateek Singh, we see screenshots of the current versions of the Maruti Brezza and Fronx inside the test facility. It looks like both these models have also performed well in the crash test. The A-pillars of the Grand Vitara, along with the Brezza and Fronx, appear to be in shape, which is quite promising.

If the Maruti Grand Vitara manages to score a 5-star rating at the Bharat NCAP, it will be of great help and directly boost the sales of these Maruti models.

Maruti Suzuki, as we all know, is the largest car manufacturer in India by volume, and they have been facing a lot of criticism from the media and customers about their build quality. If they could prove their build quality using the latest Bharat NCAP crash test, they could once again capture the hearts of the customers.

Coming back to the Maruti Grand Vitara, it is available with two petrol engine options. There is a mild hybrid and a strong hybrid variant on offer. The mild hybrid version uses a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 105 PS and 136 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

The strong hybrid version of the Grand Vitara uses a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder strong hybrid petrol engine that generates 91 Bhp and 122 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to an e-CVT gearbox as standard. It looks like both models of the Grand Vitara underwent testing. The price for the Grand Vitara starts at Rs 10.80 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 20.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
