Maruti Suzuki Invicto Achieves 5-Star Rating In Bharat NCAP Safety Tests

The premium MPV Maruti Suzuki Invicto, which is the badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova, has scored a perfect five-star rating at the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The SUV managed to score 30.43/32 in Adult Occupant Protection tests and 45/49 in Child Occupant Protection tests. The Invicto has now become the third five-star-rated vehicle in the Maruti Suzuki lineup after Victoris and Dzire.

Adult Occupant Protection - 30.43/32

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Invicto managed to score 14.43 points out of 16. It was reported by BNCAP that there was good head protection for the driver and co-driver. Also, chest protection was adequate, and pelvis protection was good. In the side movable deformable barrier test, the Invicto scored 16/16 points, and in the side pole impact test, it was rated OK.

Child Occupant Protection - 45/49

As for the Child Occupant Protection scores, in the dynamic test of frontal and side impact, the MPV scored 24/24 points. In the Child Restraint System installation test, the Invicto managed to score 12/12 points. In the vehicle assessment test, it scored 9/13. The points in this test were deducted due to the lack of an integrated child restraint system.

In terms of safety features, the Invicto comes equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, rear disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors, along with three-point seatbelts for all passengers. The Toyota Innova, on which it is based, also gets ADAS Level 2, but the Invicto does not.

The Invicto premium MPV starts at Rs 24.97 lakh and goes up to Rs 28.60 lakh for the top-of-the-line Alpha Plus variant. It comes equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine coupled to an electric motor. Its combined output is 184 horsepower, and it is paired with an e-CVT.

As for features, it comes loaded with ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a full-TFT instrument console. The Invicto also gets a boot space of 239 litres, which can be expanded up to 690 litres with the third row folded down.
