Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer by volume. However, the brand doesn’t have many SUVs in its lineup compared to its rivals. It seems Maruti is planning to change this, and in the coming years, Maruti will introduce more SUVs. As per Autocar Professional, Maruti Suzuki has plans to expand its portfolio by introducing half a dozen utility vehicles in the next two to three years. Additionally, Maruti plans to bring in 10 new models, including upgrades, over the next five years. So, what are the six utility vehicles launching in the next two to three years? Let’s take a look.

Maruti eVitara

First on the list is the much-awaited Maruti eVitara. Based on the eVX concept, the eVitara will mark Maruti’s entry into the electric vehicle segment. It is built on the HEARTECT-e skateboard platform. The SUV has been unveiled internationally and is approximately the size of the Grand Vitara.

Maruti will officially launch the SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in the next few days. The electric SUV will feature amenities like automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake, an electric sunroof, LED headlamps, dual-function LED DRLs, seat ventilation, and more.

The eVitara will come with 61 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. The higher variant will feature a dual-motor setup, making it an AWD SUV.

Y17

This is the codename for the most premium SUV that Maruti has been working on for quite some time. It is essentially the seven-seater version of the Grand Vitara, which is already available for sale. The seven-seater Grand Vitara has been spotted testing on a couple of occasions. We expect Maruti to retain the overall design of the SUV, similar to the Grand Vitara, with longer overhangs at the rear to accommodate the third-row seats. It will likely feature mild and strong hybrid petrol engines like the five-seater version but is unlikely to include an AWD option.

The Y17 will compete with the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari in the segment and is expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

Electric MPV

In 2026, Maruti will launch its second electric product, an electric MPV based on the same platform as the eVX. Maruti’s upcoming electric MPV might be inspired by the Ertiga MUV. Known by the codename YMC, detailed information about it is scarce at the moment. However, a Toyota version of the YMC will also be introduced. Maruti’s electric MPV is likely to launch in 2026.

Y43

Maruti is also targeting the micro-SUV segment, which is currently dominated by the likes of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The Maruti Y43 will sit below the Brezza and is expected to launch in the second half of 2026.

Two Sub-Compact SUVs

Beyond the four utility vehicles listed above, Maruti also plans to launch two sub-compact SUVs in 2027. One of these is internally known as YDB and is reportedly based on the Suzuki Solio, which is already available internationally. The YDB is planned to be offered in the market as a rival to the Renault Triber. The other small SUV that Maruti Suzuki plans to bring to India is currently known as YK9. It is based on the Suzuki Hustler.
