New Maruti Swift Gets Rs. 89,000 Discount In Less Than 6 Months Of Launch

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer, and the Swift is one of their popular models in the lineup. It has been on sale since 2005, and it was once the best-selling hatchback from Maruti for quite some time. However, things have now changed, and it seems that with the current generation of the Swift, Maruti didn’t get the response they expected. This has led to various offers and discounts on the hatchback. The Swift hatchback is now being offered at a discount of up to Rs 89,000.
Maruti was already offering discounts with the new Swift, and in October, the brand further increased the discount amount. Previously, discounts were available only on the lower variants of the Swift, but these have now been extended to the higher ZXI and ZXI+ variants of the hatchback.
Maruti is now offering a maximum discount of Rs 89,000 on the ZXI+ variant of the Swift. This includes a cash discount of Rs 55,000, a dealer discount of Rs 19,000, and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. The ZXI variant gets a discount worth Rs 84,000, which includes a cash discount of Rs 50,000, an additional dealer discount of Rs 19,000, and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000.
We have rarely seen Maruti offer such significant discounts on a newly launched product like the Swift. There are a few reasons behind this discount.
The current generation Maruti Swift was launched earlier this year, and in terms of design and looks, it didn’t appeal to many. Many people were, in fact, disappointed with the Swift’s new design. Another reason is the pricing. The Maruti Swift was always competitively priced, but with the current generation, the top-end variant was priced just under Rs 10 lakh.
This discouraged many from buying the Swift, leading them to explore alternative options. Another factor is the rising popularity of SUVs, especially in the sub-4 meter segment, which is thriving in India. Almost all manufacturers have an SUV in this segment, and customers visiting Arena dealerships to buy the Swift might automatically consider the Brezza, as the lower variants of the Brezza are priced close to the higher variants of the Swift.
Due to these reasons, Maruti decided to offer discounts on the Swift. However, it should be noted that the discounts mentioned here may vary depending on factors such as stock availability and location. It’s always a good idea to contact the nearest dealership and speak to the staff for the best offers.
Maruti Suzuki is offering the new Swift with a brand-new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. This engine is designed to prioritize fuel efficiency and city-focused performance. This is the first time, Swift is launched in the market with a 3-cylinder engine and we feel that is also a reason why many people are driving themselves away from the new Swift.
The engine generates 80 Bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. The hatchback is available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option. A CNG variant of the Swift was also recently launched. The price for a brand-new Maruti Swift starts at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
