Maruti Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid SUV Revealed: Gets 4x4 On Mild Hybrid Trims

Maruti Suzuki has just revealed its all-new compact SUV in the Indian market. Called the Victoris, this product will compete with the hot-selling Hyundai Creta here. It comes in 10 colour options, including dual-tones. Maruti Suzuki will sell this through Arena showrooms. The ex-showroom prices haven't been announced yet.
This product is for people who are looking for an Arena SUV that is more premium, more stylish, and better kitted than the Brezza. In the carmaker’s domestic portfolio, it sits between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. The Victoris has a lot in common with the latter, including the platform that it is based on.
To begin with, the Victoris is a good-looking SUV. It has a sturdy, upright stance, smooth design, and clean body panels. Some areas of the design seem to have Grand Vitara-like cues. The SUV comes with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, aero vents and other design elements. The design at large, is sleek, but substantial.
The Victoris offers a premium cabin experience. The touch and feel, layout and material quality are better than those offered on the Brezza. Maruti Suzuki has packaged the SUV well with features.
It gets a large floating touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 64 selectable colours, PM 2.5 air purification system, 60W charging dock, ventilated front seats and a Head-Up Display.
In addition to these, a bunch of ‘Maruti-first’ features like powered tailgate with gesture control, Dolby Atmos with Harman speakers (Maruti calls it the ‘theatre-like experience’), Alexa integration, and Level 2 ADAS have also been introduced on the higher variants. The SUV further offers built-in internet support as well.
Safety too has been addressed well. The Victoris comes with six airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD, ISOFIX mounts and other essential safety equipment. It is also the first Maruti model to get ADAS. In the future, we will see Advanced Driver aids making it to more Maruti cars and SUVs. Furthermore, the Victoris has scored a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests. It scored 31.66 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 43.00 out of 49 in child occupant protection.
The Victoris gas also borrowed its powertrains from the NEXA SUV. Buyers get to choose between the 1.5-litre K15 mild-hybrid petrol, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder strong hybrid petrol that runs on the Atkinson cycle, and a petrol-CNG dual-fuel engine.
Both manual and automatic gearboxes are offered as well. The K15 mild hybrid engine produces 103hp. The more powerful strong hybrid makes 115hp. The Victoris also comes with 4x4 hardware on some of the variants.
Unlike most CNG cars available today, the Victoris CNG has its natural gas tank integrated into the underbody. It doesn’t eat into the boot space or lead to practicality compromises, especially for families who have to travel with luggage.
The Victoris is clearly a strategic move by Maruti Suzuki. By placing it between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara, the carmaker is ensuring that buyers in the respective price bracket have a strong option from its stable. With its style, equipment array, and diverse powertrain choices, the Victoris could rise to success in the time ahead. All it needs now is a good price.
