Maruti Suzuki Victoris Mid-Size SUV Launched: Priced Lower Than Hyundai Creta

Maruti Suzuki has just launched a new mid-size SUV - the Victoris. Prices start from Rs. 10.5 lakh for the base LXi trim, going all the way up to Rs. 19.99 lakh for the top-end ZXi+ (O trim. The Victoris rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate, stable-mate Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and its cousin Toyota Hyryder, to name its prominent rivals. The Victoris undercuts India's best selling mid-sized SUV - the Hyundai Creta - by a considerable Rs. 61,000.
The Victoris is offered with petrol mild hybrid, petrol strong hybrid and petrol-CNG trims. Both front wheel drive and all wheel drive options are on offer while transmission options include manual and automatic gearboxes. The mid-sized Maruti SUV will be sold through ARENA dealerships, where it will be positioned as a flagship offering.
Bookings are already open at ARENA dealerships across India, and deliveries of the Victoris will commence from the 22nd of September, 2025 to coincide with Navratri. Even as you're reading this, the Victoris has begun reaching Maruti Suzuki stockyards across the country. Notably, Toyota builds the Victoris at its Bidadi factory, and ships it to Maruti dealers. A Toyota-badged version of the Victoris will be launched early next year.
The Victoris is available in 21 trims, covering petrol, hybrid, automatic, AWD, and CNG options. Clearly, there's for something for everyone.
Petrol Smart Hybrid (5 speed manual/6 speed torque converter automatic): Entry-level LXi MT at ₹10.49 lakh, going up to ₹17.76 lakh for the top automatic trims.
ALLGRIP Select AWD, available only with a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox: Exclusive to ZXi+ trims, priced between ₹18.63-₹19.21 lakh - a unique feature in this segment.
Strong Hybrid: e-CVT versions priced from ₹16.37 lakh (VXi) to ₹19.99 lakh (ZXi+ (O)), targeting buyers who value fuel efficiency and advanced tech.
CNG Variants, available with the petrol smart hybrid engine and 5 speed manual gearbox: Priced between ₹11.49 - ₹14.56 lakh, ideal for high-mileage users.
The Victoris packs segment-leading equipment including Level-2 ADAS with over 10 driver-assist features, a 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X infotainment system with OTA updates, Alexa Auto, and Suzuki Connect (60+ features). Other prominent features include an 8-speaker Harman Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos, a Smart powered tailgate with gesture control, and a first-in-segment underbody CNG tank for better boot space.
The Victoris has just bagged 5 star crash test ratings in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP tests. Standard safety kit includes six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all occupants.
The Victoris, with its 21 variant spread, becomes one of the most versatile offerings in the mid-size SUV market, directly challenging the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos while also nudging into hybrid territory against the Toyota Hyryder and Grand Vitara.
It'll be interesting to see how many Maruti Brezza and Grand Vitara buyers end up opting for the Victoris, which clearly goes a step ahead of both its stable-mates.
