Maruti Suzuki is set to bring more heat to the C-SUV game, with the Victoris. The carmaker revealed it today, and the price announcement is expected to follow soon. It will be sold through Arena dealerships and will become Arena’s flagship when it finally goes on sale in India. In Maruti’s lineup, it will sit above the Brezza and below the Grand Vitara. Let’s now see the Victoris in images...

Design

The Victoris is a good-looking SUV. A clear influence of the Grand Vitara can be seen at various places of its design, especially the side profile. Maruti, however, claims that it is based on a newer design language. Some influence of the upcoming eVitara electric SUV can also be felt at certain places.

The Victoris features a complete LED lighting setup. The LED headlamps feature a unique design and at the rear are LED tail lamps, connected by a full-width light bar. Unlike the solid lightbars seen on multiple other models, this SUV has a dotted pattern (segmented design) to its rear LED bar.

Another interesting detail is the slim grille. These areas of the design resemble those of the eVitara. The front bumper has a chunky design and also houses the fog lamp units. Just like what we see on the Grand Vitara, the Victoris has bold Black claddings lining all of its sides. These give it an SUV-like visual character. On the Grand Vitara, however, these get a more rounded appearance. The Victoris has them squared off. It rides on 18-inch wheels and has blacked-out pillars, Silver skid plates, and roof rails.

The colour palette of the Victoris has 10 shades in it, including three dual-tones. These are Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Eternal Blue, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, Magma Grey, Mystic Green, Splendid Silver with Black Roof, Sizzling Red with Black Roof, and Eternal Blue with Black Roof.

Interior And Features

The cabin has a premium appearance and uses pleasing trims and materials. The dashboard has a tech-focussed, but clean design. You will find multiple premium trims and textures on it. Maruti Suzuki has also integrated a 64-colour ambient lighting seamlessly into the dashboard. The steering wheel would look familar to Maruti Suzuki owners.

Taking the centre stage is a large, 10.25-inch, freestanding Smartplay Pro X touchscreen that offers Android Auto and Apple Carplay along with various connected car features and Alexa Auto. Maruti Suzuki has given this product built-in internet access as well.

The Victoris borrows its powertrains from the Grand Vitara. It gets the same 1.5L K15 mild-hybrid petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines, offered with the choice of manual, automatic, and e-CVT transmissions.

The mild hybrid will make 103hp while the strong hybrid will be able to produce 115 hp. There will be a CNG version which, for the first time, will feature an underbody-mounted CNG tank. It will not eat into the SUV’s usable boot space.

maruti victoris platform

Suzuki has based the Victoris on its new-age ‘Suzuki Tect’ platform. This architecture is claimed to offer great structural rigidity and safety. Additionally, the vehicle comes with safety tech like six airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill hold control, ISOFIX anchorages and even Level 2 ADAS. It aced the crash tests conducted by Bharat NCAP by securing a full five-star safety rating.
