Maruti Suzuki recently launched its newest mid-size SUV, Victoris, in India, and ever since then, people have been comparing it to its Nexa sibling, the Grand Vitara. Recently, a video has been shared online in which the base CNG variants of the newly launched Victoris and Grand Vitara have been compared in detail. If you are planning to buy either of these SUVs, all of your doubts will be cleared.

Victoris CNG vs Grand Vitara CNG

The comparison video of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris CNG variants has been shared on YouTube by Car Spar on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger showing both of these SUVs parked next to each other. He then mentions that the Victoris in front is the base LXI CNG variant, and the Grand Vitara is the base Delta CNG variant.

He highlights that this comparison is being done to find out which base CNG variant is a better value for money. Following this, he mentions that the newly launched Victoris LXI CNG is priced at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Grand Vitara Delta CNG variant is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh, making it Rs 1.5 lakh more expensive.

The host then starts talking about the powertrains of these SUVs. He mentions that both SUVs come equipped with the same 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder petrol engine. As a result, both engines make 86 bhp of power and 121 Nm of torque. As for transmission options, CNG variants of both the Victoris and Grand Vitara come with a 5-speed manual gearbox without any optional automatic gearbox.

He also talks about the mileage offered by these SUVs. The Victoris CNG, according to the company, offers 27 km/kg. However, recently, another YouTuber performed a real-world test, and it offered 28 km/kg. The Grand Vitara, on the other hand, offers 26 km/kg mileage.

Following the powertrain details, the vlogger then starts showing the exterior designs of the Victoris and Grand Vitara. He mentions that the Victoris, being the newer SUV, looks fresher. On the other hand, the Grand Vitara, which looks classy, feels slightly outdated because it has been out for a while now. At the front, both SUVs get halogen projector headlights and halogen lamps.

Moving to the side profile, he mentions that both the Victoris and Grand Vitara get 17-inch black steel wheels with company-fitted wheel covers. They both also get request sensors on the doors. As for the major difference, the Grand Vitara gets body-colored ORVMs, door handles, and blacked-out A and B pillars.

However, in the Victoris, they are black. At the rear, he highlights that both SUVs look decent, and it depends on the buyer which design they prefer. They both get LED taillights and parking sensors. He then opens the boot and shows the main difference, which is the placement of the CNG tank.

The vlogger highlights that both get 55-litre water-capacity CNG tanks. However, these CNG variants differ in boot space due to the placement of these tanks. The Victoris gets an underbody CNG tank, leaving it with a bigger boot. Meanwhile, the Grand Vitara’s CNG tank takes up a lot of space in the boot.

Interior Differences

The Grand Vitara and Victoris both get 7-inch touchscreen infotainment systems with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. In terms of differences, the overall layouts of the dashboards are different, and the Victoris boasts a much fresher design. However, it misses out on cruise control.

They both also get start-stop buttons, digital MIDs on the gauge cluster, and similar door pads. The Victoris, however, gets 3D gloss black elements on the doors and a brighter beige color scheme, whereas the Grand Vitara features a dark brown and black theme. The Victoris also gets tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, but the Grand Vitara only gets tilt adjustment.
