Maruti Victoris Base Variant (LXI) Compared to Mid-Variant (VXI) - How To Decide

Maruti Suzuki’s latest product for the Indian market has been gaining massive attention. The Victoris is now the new Arena flagship. It is a well-packaged mid-size SUV that comes with aggressive pricing. It comes in 21 variants, spread across seven broad trims. The range starts at LXI and goes up to the ZXI+ (O). A video shared on the YouTube channel ‘Cars With Anurag’ shows an in-depth comparison between the base-spec LXI variant and the second VXi trim.
The video starts by showing the exterior designs of both vehicles. The host says that the LXI and VXi come with minimal feature differences. Most changes are cosmetic. Talking of the prices, the LXI has an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.49 lakh, while the VXI starts at Rs 11.79 lakh, ex-showroom.
The host then talks in detail about the design differences. The VXI shown here has red paint, while the LXI is finished in a Silver colour. The front fascia is almost identical. It gets a sleek Chrome strip, clean panels, faux skid plates, and halogen headlamps. Both variants get 17-inch steel rims.
Squared wheel arches with bold Black cladding can also be seen on these vehicles. The LXI variant, however, comes with Black door handles and side view mirrors (which also feature electric adjustment). On the VXi, these are body-coloured. Both variants get request sensors on both sides.
It is just the VXI variant that comes with roof rails. The LXI lacks these. The base variant gets Blacked-out trims connecting its taillamps. The VXi variant, on the other hand, comes with connected LED tail lamps. Both variants come with four parking sensors and a rear skid plate. It is just the VXI that gets a rear parking camera.
The video then shows the boot space on both variants- 439 liters. The LXI and VXI do not offer spare wheels and come with puncture repair kits instead. The LXI variant also misses out on the boot lamp, power socket in the boot, and the rear parcel tray. These can be had on the VXI variant.

Inside, the LXI and VXI variants differ in some of their features. The VXI offers a height-adjustable driver’s seat, which is missing on the LXI. Another such addition is the cruise control. The inside door handles are finished in Black on the base variant. On the VXI, these come finished in Chrome. It also comes with a four-speaker sound system.

The LXI gets just a basic two-speaker sound system. Both variants get features like a touchscreen infotainment unit, power windows for all doors, manual IRVM, an analog instrument cluster with digital MID, automatic AC and steering-mounted audio controls. You also get an inside vanity mirror on the VXi variant.
At the rear, the LXI variant gets a bench seat, while a 60:40 split unit can be seen on the VXI trim. The rear occupants get dedicated AC vents in both cases. Type-C USB chargers are, however, available only from the VXI.
The Victoris borrows its powertrains from the Grand Vitara. It is available with 1.5L mild hybrid petrol (K15), 1.5L strong hybrid petrol and CNG engines. The LXI trim offers just two of these powertrain options- the mild hybrid 1.5L petrol engine and the CNG.
The VXI offers all three of these. It is also the first variant to offer the 6AT automatic transmission. It is also the go-to choice if you’re searching for the most affordable strong hybrid product from Maruti Suzuki. The Victoris VXI strong hybrid has an ex-showroom price of Rs 16.37 lakh.
