Watch Pune Municipal Truck Get Swallowed By A Massive Sinkhole: Crazy Footage
India and its infrastructure are not very popular across the globe for their high quality, and time after time, unique incidents take place across the country. Most recently, an entire truck got swallowed by a massive sinkhole in Pune. Yes, you heard that right, not a car, a bike, or an auto rickshaw, but a complete truck went inside a sinkhole. This incident has been reported from Pune, and the CCTV video footage shows exactly how a truck went inside this sinkhole.
Truck sinks in a sinkhole
This video of a sinkhole swallowing a truck has been shared on X by ANI. The video clip starts with a Pune Municipal Corporation drainage cleaning truck standing at a parking spot. It has been reported that this truck was present at the City Post Office in Budhwar Peth locality. The video seems fairly normal in the beginning.
However, in just a few moments, the truck starts driving ahead. As soon as the truck moves a little ahead, the rear wheels of the truck sink into the ground. The driver can be seen panicking, and within seconds, the sinkhole becomes larger, and the entire truck gets swallowed inside it.
What happened to the driver?
The video shows that as the truck was sinking into the sinkhole that randomly opened, the driver was inside the truck. Thankfully, taking note of the situation, a vigilant man came near the sinkhole and helped the driver get out just in time. The driver exited the vehicle in time but needed a hand to come out of the sinkhole.
How did it happen?
Currently, the investigation to find out why exactly this sinkhole appeared at the City Post Office in Budhwar Peth locality is underway. It has been reported that along with the truck, the same sinkhole has swallowed a few other two-wheelers as well. This incident took place around 4 PM on the 20th of September.
It has been reported that around 20 officials from the Pune Fire Department have been working on the rescue mission for these vehicles. They are using specialized equipment to retrieve the vehicles from the sinkhole. The officials have stated that they will be investigating the possible reasons behind the emergence of this sinkhole.
Not the first sinkhole
This is not the first time we have seen a sinkhole appearing out of nowhere. Back in 2021, a video from Ghatkopar, Mumbai went viral on the internet. In this video, a parked Hyundai Venue sub-compact SUV suddenly sank into a sinkhole that also appeared randomly.
It was reported that this incident took place in the Ramnivas Society in Ghatkopar. It was stated that the entire fault in this incident lay with the housing society. The Mumbai municipal corporation stated that the housing society created this parking spot by closing a well.
However, they did not close the well properly, and during the monsoon, as water filled inside the well, it created the sinkhole. Following the incident, a rescue operation to retrieve the Hyundai Venue started where the well was being emptied.
Earlier this year, another massive sinkhole incident was reported from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. In this case, a massive sinkhole appeared in the middle of a road. The scary part was that a Mahindra KUV100 was dangling over the sinkhole and was about to fall inside.
