MG first showcased the Cyberster in India, last year, on the sidelines of announcing its partnership with JSW. We then saw it at the Auto Expo this year- closer and in more colours. The sleek, futuristic styling seems to have impressed enthusiasts, and there has been a lot of anticipation around the car's launch ever since. We have now learnt that the Cyberster will launch in India, next month- August 2025! An exact launch date, however, seems unavailable at the moment. When launched, this electric sportscar will have its ex-showroom price in the ballpark of Rs 80 lakh.

The Cyberster will be sold through the newly set-up MG Select dealerships, which have a stronger focus on delivering premium purchase and ownership experiences. MG will use this retailer chain to sell all its premium products. The M9, Cyberster and the Majestor are a few vehicles that we know would be sold through these.

As of now, MG has set up 'Select' dealerships in 12 Indian cities. More will be added in the days ahead. The Cyberster has already started reaching dealers, a video of which had recently surfaced online.

MG Cyberster: What Do We Know About It?

Cyberster is the fastest MG on sale today. Powered by a 77kWh battery pack, it can sprint to 100 kph from a complete standstill in just 3.2 seconds. Its dual motor setup generates 510 hp and 725 Nm. The roadster is claimed to have a CLTC range of 580 kilometres as well.

It will be brought to India as CBU units initially. The India-spec is expected to have a minimal deviation from the Cyberster sold abroad. It takes inspiration from the MG B Roadsters of 1960s and looks like a post-modern evolution of the same.

Key design highlights include full-LED lighting with sleek headlamps and arrow-patterned tail lamps, a split diffuser, side skirts and more. The expected wheel size is 19 if not 20 inches. Owing to its two-door, two-seater, electric roadster genes, the Cyberster will have a soft top, which may come with multiple colour choices as well. Four exterior colourways are expected on the EV.

Another major highlight would be the iconic scissor doors which are operated electrically. These are further equipped with a bundle of radars and sensors for safe operation and flawless anti-pinch function.

Inside, the roadster feels modern and premium with its Red-and-Black dual-tone colourway. It gets two comfortably cushioned, well-upholstered bucket seats with 6-way electric adjustment.

Another major highlight is the massive digital real estate. It gets a triple-screen setup. The central unit is a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, while the 7-inch units function as displays for driver information and AC controls respectively. MG has integrated a lot of the car's functions into these displays. The dashboard design seems to have taken inspiration from fighter jet cockpits.

Other features inside the Cyberster include memory function and ventilation for the seats, a sporty multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls, an 8-speaker premium Bose audio system and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In addition to the ADAS suite, safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an auto-dimming IRVM are also offered.

On the mechanical front, MG has given this car a double wishbone suspension at the front and a five-link setup at the rear. The manufacturer claims this to deliver a sweet balance between ride quality and vehicle dynamics. The Cyberster is also claimed to benefit from a 50:50 weight distribution.
