Pre-Book This Electric Sportscar In India At Rs 50,000!

MG Motor India has officially begun pre-bookings for the highly anticipated Cyberster electric sports car, marking a significant milestone in India’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, the Cyberster aims to redefine the EV segment with its striking design, powerful performance, and premium features. Here’s a closer look at what sets the MG Cyberster apart in the Indian market.
The MG Cyberster is a two-seater convertible that pays homage to the iconic MG B Roadster of the 1960s while integrating modern design elements. It features a folding soft top, scissor doors with an anti-pinch mechanism, and dual radar sensors for enhanced safety. The sleek and aerodynamic body is complemented by sculpted rear haunches, side skirts, and striking 19-20 inch alloy wheels, reinforcing its sporty appeal. At the rear, a connected LED light strip runs across the width, accentuated by distinctive arrow-shaped tail lights and an aggressive split diffuser.
Inside, the Cyberster features a driver-focused cockpit with a black and red dual-tone theme. The dashboard houses a tri-screen setup, consisting of a central 10.25-inch touchscreen and two 7-inch displays. The infotainment system is equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice command support for seamless connectivity. Additional luxury touches include an 8-speaker Bose audio system, 6-way power-adjustable heated seats with a memory function, and premium leather upholstery.
The Cyberster is powered by a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired with dual oil-cooled electric motors—one on each axle—delivering an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. This configuration generates an impressive 510 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
With a claimed range of 580 km per charge (under the CLTC cycle), the Cyberster offers ample driving distance for both urban commutes and long journeys. The car features a double wishbone suspension at the front and a five-link independent setup at the rear, ensuring superior handling and stability. Its 50:50 weight distribution further enhances high-speed stability and cornering capabilities.
Safety is a key priority in the Cyberster, with an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These include lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and collision warning. Additionally, the car is equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, traction control, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a blind spot monitor, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. These features provide a secure and confident driving experience.
The MG Cyberster is expected to be priced between ₹60 lakh and ₹70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most accessible electric sports cars in India. Customers can pre-book the vehicle with a refundable token amount of ₹51,000. The Cyberster will be available exclusively through MG’s new premium retail network, MG Select.
MG Select is a dedicated retail channel though which MG hopes to offer an elevated customer experience. Initially, MG plans to establish 12 Select experience centres across major Indian cities, with further expansion planned. The network will focus on new energy vehicles, including electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid models. The Cyberster will be the first offering under this initiative, followed by models such as the Mifa MPV.
The Cyberster currently lacks a direct competitor in India, making it a unique proposition in the high-performance electric sports car segment. It serves as an electric alternative to traditional petrol-powered roadsters like the BMW Z4. MG is also considering introducing a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant with a smaller 64 kWh battery pack, offering a different performance profile to cater to varied preferences.
With the launch of the Cyberster, MG is taking a bold step in India’s luxury electric vehicle space. Combining exhilarating performance, cutting-edge technology, and premium styling, the Cyberster is set to capture the attention of driving enthusiasts and high-end EV buyers. As MG expands its premium offerings through the MG Select network, the Cyberster is poised to be a flagship model that redefines electric mobility in India.
