Cyberster To S5: 4 New MG Electric Cars Coming Soon

JSW MG Motor India had promised that they were planning to introduce a new model in the Indian market every 3–6 months. This is part of their expansion plans, and we already know about a few upcoming products from MG this year. Earlier this year, at the Bharat Mobility Expo, MG showcased some of their upcoming models. Here, we have a list of four such MG cars coming to the Indian market this year and next year.
The first on this list is the MG Windsor EV. We know the Windsor is already available in the Indian market, but what we currently have is the 38 kWh battery pack version. This version offers a claimed range of 332 km.
In real-world conditions, this would translate to a driving range of around 250 km. This limitation prevents the Windsor EV from being a suitable car for long drives. However, MG has a solution for this. They already have a bigger battery pack version of the Windsor EV available internationally. The 50 kWh version of the Windsor EV, also known as the Cloud EV internationally, comes with a claimed range of 460 km. This would make the CUV more practical for long drives. MG is expected to launch the bigger battery pack version of the Windsor EV later this year.
MG announced that they will be opening a new chain of dealerships that will focus exclusively on their premium products. These will be called MG Select, and they will primarily sell premium EVs. One such premium EV showcased by MG earlier this year was the Cyberster.
The MG Cyberster has already arrived in India, and we have seen a couple of examples on Indian roads. It is an extremely sporty-looking, two-door sports car. This is an electric vehicle, though many might mistake it for an ICE-powered car.
The Indian version of the Cyberster will come with a 77 kWh battery pack and a twin-motor setup. The electric motors will generate 510 Bhp and 725 Nm of peak torque. This electric sports car can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and has a claimed range of 580 km on a single charge.
The MG Cyberster is not going to be an affordable offering. It is expected to cost around ₹60–80 lakh (ex-showroom). MG is likely to launch this electric sports car in the next couple of months.
Another premium product that will be sold via MG Select dealerships is the M9 luxury MPV. This electric MPV has been showcased by MG at various expos. However, they have now confirmed that they will be bringing it to India.
In terms of design, the MPV looks similar to the Toyota Vellfire. It appears huge and spacious on the inside. Coming to the specifications, the MG M9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed driving range of about 580 km. This battery pack generates 241 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Internationally, the MPV is available in just two shades: Black Pearl and White Pearl.
It will compete with the likes of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire and is expected to be launched at a price of ₹60–65 lakh. The launch is expected to happen later this year.
MG will be replacing the ZS EV with a new electric SUV called the S5 EV. This electric SUV is scheduled to be launched internationally later this year and will slowly make its way to India in 2026.
The MG S5 is based on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP). The upcoming EV is going to be longer and wider than the current ZS EV. It will be loaded with premium features, including Level 2 ADAS.
The S5 EV is expected to be powered by a 62 kWh battery pack that drives the rear wheels. The SUV will generate around 167 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and is expected to offer a claimed driving range of 500 km or more. MG might also change the name of the SUV when it is launched in the Indian market.
