MG Gloster is the flagship SUV from the British car manufacturer in India. Last year, MG launched the Blackstorm edition of the SUV. This year, they have introduced two new versions: Desert Storm and Snow Storm. Both versions are priced at Rs 41.04 lakh, ex-showroom.

MG Gloster Desert Storm

Speaking at the launch, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of MG Motor India, said, “The Gloster has enjoyed popularity among Indian SUV enthusiasts for its design, space, premium features, and unmatched comfort and convenience. We received a positive response from premium SUV buyers for the Gloster Blackstorm launched last year. Today, we’re delighted to announce another milestone with the launch of the new Gloster Desert Storm and Snow Storm, both of which underscore our pursuit of modernity and sophistication. The new Gloster Storm series exemplifies our commitment to providing exceptional and distinctive experiences and offering high-tech features that maintain MG’s legacy of being premium and bold.”

Both Desert Storm and Snow Storm are inspired by nature. As their names suggest, the Desert Storm edition is finished in a deep golden shade, similar to the color of sand in the desert. The Snow Storm edition is finished in a snow-white shade, just like snow. In both editions, the chrome garnishes that MG usually offers with the regular Gloster have been removed.

The SUV comes with a blacked-out front grille with the MG logo in the center, blacked-out headlamps, red accents inside the headlamps, blacked-out ORVMs, black alloy wheels, and blacked-out B and C pillars. The alloy wheel design looks the same as the regular version of the SUV.

In the Snow Storm edition, we see all these changes with the white body paint job. We also see more red accents on the Snow Storm edition than on the Desert Storm.

Coming to the interior, MG has offered a premium-looking cabin with the Gloster. Both Desert and Snow Storm editions come with a premium-looking cabin finished mostly in black. The seats are wrapped in premium leather upholstery along with soft-touch material on the dashboard.

MG is also offering other features like illuminated scuff plates, a honeycomb pattern on the roof liner, a 12.30-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, automatic parking assist, automatic gear shift with auto park, and a driver seat with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The front seats also get 12-way electrical adjustment functions.

The SUV remains the same mechanically and offers the same number of features. The Gloster gets Level 2 ADAS, which includes Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Driver Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Change Assist (LCA).

The SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The lower variant of the Gloster gets a single turbo while the higher variants use twin-turbochargers. The single turbo variant generates 161 Bhp and 375 Nm of peak torque. The twin-turbo variant generates 215 Bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is available in both 2WD and 4WD versions. All the variants are offered with automatic transmission only.
