MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition Launched At 6.99 Lakh

To entice new buyers, JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Comet EV Blackstorm Edition in India. The new model, which is based on the top-of-the-line MG Comet EV hatchback, has been launched with a price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh (with the battery as a subscription model) and Rs 6.99 lakh (with the battery included in the vehicle). Like the other Blackstorm Edition models, including the Gloster, Hector, and Astor, the Comet EV also gets a blacked-out exterior and interior with sporty red accents throughout.
First off, let's talk about what's new with the MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition. This model gets a starry black exterior paint color, which is complemented by sporty red accents. MG has added these red accents to the front bumper, the skid plate, and the side cladding. They have also been added to the alloy wheels of this EV hatchback.
Apart from these, the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition gets a “Blackstorm” badge on the fenders. It also gets Morris Garages badging on the monogram as well. In addition to these, the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition gets a silver finish near the headlights, and it also gets a connected LED taillight.
Stepping inside the MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition, one is welcomed by an all-black interior with red stitching and “Blackstorm” badges on the headrests. It retains some beige hues on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Additionally, the vehicle also gets leatherette seat upholstery, adding to the premium appeal.
The MG Comet EV, despite its size, comes loaded with features. It includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a multi-function steering wheel. Additionally, it also gets USB ports, connected car technology, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and a manual air conditioning system.
MG has also given the Blackstorm Edition Comet EV a four-speaker sound system. In terms of safety, the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera with sensors, rear-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, and a digital key with a sharing function.
Powering the MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition is an electric motor that makes 42 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. As for the battery pack, it comes equipped with a 17.3 kWh unit, which offers an ARAI-claimed range of 230 km. All the power is sent to the rear wheels.
As for the pricing, the MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition starts at Rs 4.99 lakh without the battery included, and from there, it goes up to Rs 7.66 lakh. Customers who opt for the battery as a subscription model have to pay Rs 2.5 per km as battery rental. As for the pricing with the battery included, it starts at Rs 6.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.64 lakh.
