Exterior

The MG M9 is a huge MPV. In fact, it is longer than the Kia Carnival and even the Toyota Vellfire. We’ll start with the dimensions first. The M9 is 5,270 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 1,840 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3,200 mm.

The Kia Carnival has a length of 5,155 mm, a width of 1,995 mm, and a height of 1,775 mm. Its wheelbase is 3,090 mm. The Toyota Vellfire has a length of 5,005 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, and a height of 1,950 mm.

The exterior design of the MG M9 looks boxy, as most MPVs in this segment do. This is done intentionally to maximise cabin space. It gets LED DRLs, projector LED headlamps, a muscular bumper, a closed front grille, large wheel arches, chrome accents on the lower part of the window, large windows, all-LED tail lamps with connected LED bars, and more.

Interior

The MG M9, as mentioned above, is a luxury electric MPV and offers all the features one would expect from a car in this segment. MG is offering a Cognac and black-themed cabin with brushed aluminium and faux wooden inserts at various places. The roof liners are also finished in a light grey shade, which makes the cabin look more airy.

The MG M9 is a 7-seater MPV with captain seats on offer for the second-row passengers. The second-row seats can be controlled with the help of a touchscreen placed on the armrest. This screen can control various features like the power windows, 64-colour ambient lights, heating and ventilation functions, massage function, and also the electrical adjustments of the seats. The seat can be fully reclined into a bed in case you need to relax during long journeys.

Apart from this, the car also offers a 12-speaker sound system from JBL, two rear seat infotainment screens, a split sunroof, a multi-function steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment system, loads of storage spaces, a wireless phone charger, Level 2 ADAS, memeory seats, a 360-degree camera, three-zone climate control, electrically opening and closing sliding doors, and much more.

As this is a huge MPV, there is no dearth of space inside the cabin. It also has decent space in the boot as well as under the bonnet to carry your luggage.

Under the Hood

The MG M9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery pack, which is expected to offer around 450–500 km of claimed driving range. Official figures will be announced by MG in the coming days. The electric motor generates 245 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque.

Variants & Colours

MG will be offering the M9 in a single variant. They are calling it the Presidential Limousine, which will come loaded with all the features. In terms of colours, MG will offer the M9 luxury electric MPV in Metal Black, Pearl Lustre White, and Concrete Grey shades.

MG will be assembled here in India. The manufacturer is aiming to position the M9 against the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Vellfire, and we assume that this strategy would help them in pricing the car aggressively.
