MG Motor has reduced prices across its SUV lineup. The Astor sees the biggest gain in percentage terms, the Hector gets a uniform cut across trims, and the Gloster records the largest absolute drop. The changes improve value for buyers in three different segments without altering the core equipment mix of each model.

Astor: Sub ₹10 lakh entry and stronger value

The Astor now starts at ₹9.65 lakh ex-showroom after a ₹54,000 reduction. That places the base Style manual roughly ₹60,000 below the Hyundai Creta’s entry price, and within reach of buyers moving up from premium hatchbacks and sedans.

Key features remain intact. The Style variant includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, connected car tech, and six airbags as standard. The Smart variant adds automatic transmission options and a broader features list. The top Sharp variant retains Level-2 ADAS, including lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking, features that are usually seen at higher price points.

With the new pricing, the Astor competes directly with the Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun entry trims while offering strong safety equipment from the base variant.

Hector: Uniform cut across trims, wider reach

The Hector receives a ₹49,000 reduction across all variants, bringing the starting price to ₹14.00 lakh. This places the base Style variant closer to rivals like the Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700 at the entry level. The Hector’s focus remains on cabin space, a large portrait infotainment screen, and connected features that many buyers prioritise in the mid-size SUV segment.

The Hector Plus, with six- and seven-seat layouts, gains the same cut. For families considering a three-row SUV, the revised prices make the Hector Plus a more accessible option without trimming equipment.

Gloster: Biggest absolute drop and added benefits

The Gloster’s price falls by ₹2.83 lakh, taking the ex-showroom entry point to ₹39.80 lakh. That narrowing makes the Gloster a stronger alternative to established body-on-frame SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner. Higher trims continue to offer four-wheel drive, ADAS, captain seats, and comfort features like massaging functions.

MG is also offering up to ₹3.50 lakh in additional benefits on the Gloster through accessories, extended warranty packages, and loyalty programs. When combined with the base reduction, eligible buyers could see savings that exceed ₹6 lakh, which is significant in this price band.

Finance offers and what it means

MG is pairing the new prices with 100 percent on-road funding for qualified customers, removing the down payment burden. A three-month EMI holiday is also available, easing early ownership costs.

Dealers report higher interest, especially for the Astor, as the sub ₹10 lakh opening creates a clearer step-up path to SUVs. The Hector and Hector Plus benefit from stronger value positioning in the ₹14–20 lakh zone, while the Gloster’s lower entry price brings more buyers into consideration for a large SUV.

Overall, the pricing reset signals a strategy to grow volumes through value. By keeping core features intact and lowering entry points, MG has created clearer reasons to shortlist each SUV. For shoppers comparing across segments, the Astor offers strong safety and tech at the base level, the Hector improves family-friendly value, and the Gloster becomes a more attainable full-size option.
