MG Motor India during the Auto Expo 2025 unveiled their all-new full-size SUV Majestor to the public. The SUV was initially assumed as a replacement of facelift to the existing Gloster. However, MG cleared the smoke over the rumours and said announced that they’ll be selling the SUV alongside the Gloster. It was initially said that the the Majestor will be sold via MG Select dealership but it looks like there is a change of plans and the Majestor will be sold alongside Gloster through regular MG dealerships only.

MG Majestor actually draws inspiration from the Maxus D90 SUV, which is currently sold in international markets. This three row SUV looks huge and imposing from the front, especially because of the large front grille with split headlamps and LED DRLs. The rugged skid plate, connecting LED tail lamps and the 19 inch wheels add the overall stance and bulk of the car.

Coming to the interior, MG Majestor comes with 12.3 inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The SUV also comes with all-digital instrument gauge cluster with customizable interfaces. The overall interior gets a black theme.

The Majestor also comes with panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated seats with a massaging function for the driver’s seat. It will also get three-zone climate control, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a premium 12-speaker audio system, and an electric tailgate.

Just like most modern cars or SUVs in the market, MG is offering safety features like Level 2 ADAS which includes emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and many others features.

In terms of engine and transmission, The MG Majestor gets a massive 2.9 litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine generates 216 Bhp and 479 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV is available with both 4x4 and 4x2 variants. It needs to be seen if the lower variants of the SUV will come with a single turbo variant or not.

MG is aiming to compete against the Toyota Fortuner Legender with the Majestor. However, unlike Legender, MG is likely to put a very attractive price tag on this SUV. The SUV will be sold alongside the Gloster.

It is definitely a premium product but, the reason why MG won’t be selling the Majestor via MG Select dealerships is because the MG Select’s focus is going to be NEVs or New Energy vehicles. The dealership will focus on selling EVs, plug-in hybrid and hybrid models from these dealerships.

The Majestor SUV is a proper ICE vehicle and that is why MG has decided to sell it via regular dealership. The Majestor is expected to be launched in the Indian market by around April this year. Other than the Fortuner Legender, MG Majestor will also compete with the likes of Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Nissan X-Trail. The SUV is expected to be priced at around Rs 40-45 lakh and we feel, this will make the Majestor a value for money product at this price tag.
