Earlier this month, MG launched the much-awaited long-range version of the Windsor EV in the Indian market, calling it the Windsor Pro. It was a steal deal at the introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh. Unsurprisingly, the first 8000 units on which the introductory price applied, got sold out within the first 24 hours of launch. Latest news has it that the Windsor Pro has started reaching dealerships across the country. The carmaker is expected start commencing deliveries today.

A video shared on Youtube shows the vlogger checking the Windsor Pro out at a dealership near him. The dealer staff is seen explaining the various features and technology offered by the EV. The vlogger can be heard saying that it is impossible visually differentiate the Windsor Pro from the regular Windsor from the outside. MG has placed the Windsor Pro as a range-topping variant, instead of rolling it out as a standalone model. It comes in just the fully loaded Essence trim.

The video also shows the dealer staff claiming that the Windsor Pro offers a boot space of 605 litres. This is in fact, what the regular Windsor offers. Due to its larger battery pack, the usable boot space of the Windsor Pro EV sees a minor cut and stands at 579 litres. This reduction, however, isn't big enough to be a deal breaker for most.

The exterior design of the Windsor Pro is similar to what find on the regular EV. The only differentiating factors would be the Pro badges

The body shape, lighting, and design are all familiar. However, you’ll notice several ‘PRO’ badges around the vehicle, setting it apart from the regular variant.

The colour palette has however, been revised. It now comes with three shades exclusive to the PRO- Aurora Silver, Glaze Red and Celadon Blue.

Inside, you'll notice changes in the colours and trims used. The overall layout remains identical to that of the regular Windsor EV. Distinguishing the Pro is the generous use of premium Faux wood and Copper-coloured trims on various interior panels and surfaces. The material quality and detailing seem to have been improved on the new vehicle. The upholstery has made a transition into a more pleasant Beige colour, from the regular EV's all-Black scheme.

The feature list on Windsor Pro consists of a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wireless charging pads, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a panoramic glass roof.

In addition to these, the Windsor Pro also features level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging. Like the regular version, it comes with seats that can recline up to 135 degrees, which MG calls the 'Aero Lounge' experience.

The biggest highlight on the new Windsor Pro is its battery pack. The regular Windsor comes with a 38 kWh unit that promises a range of 331 km per charge. On the Windsor Pro, the battery pack is significantly larger and has a capacity of 52.9 kWh. It uses Prismatic cells and claims to deliver a range of 449 km. The longer range is expected to make the Windsor EV even more popular. Buyers could now do more long-distance drives or highway runs with it.

Current Price Of Windsor EV

As the initial lot was sold out, JSW MG Motor India announced an upward revision in the Windsor Pro's price. It now has an ex-showroom price of Rs 18.60 lakh.
