Just-Launched MG Windsor Pro Gets Rs. 85,000 Cheaper: We Explain
MG Motor India recently launched the bigger battery-equipped Windsor Pro in India. This model was launched with an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh. However, soon after the launch, the company received 8,000 reservations, following which the price was increased to Rs 18.09 lakh. Now, MG has announced that the price of the Windsor Pro has again come down. However, this time around, it has launched a new and more affordable variant, which is the Exclusive Pro variant, at Rs 17.74 lakh.
MG Windsor Pro: Exclusive Pro variant details
As mentioned, the Windsor Pro has now become Rs 85,000 more affordable than the Essence Pro top-of-the-line variant. This new Windsor Exclusive Pro variant has been priced at Rs 17,24,800. In terms of the pricing of the standard Windsor EV, it is Rs 1.1 lakh more expensive than the top-spec Essence variant, which comes with the smaller 38 kWh battery pack and is priced at Rs 16,14,800.
Apart from these, the base MG Windsor EV starts at Rs 13.99 lakh. As for the Exclusive variant with the 38 kWh battery pack, it is priced at Rs 15.04 lakh. When it comes to the BAAS (Battery as a Service) program pricing, the base Windsor starts at Rs 9.99 lakh and the top-spec 38 kWh variant Essence at Rs 11.99 lakh.
Meanwhile, the Pro variants with BAAS start at Rs 12.24 lakh and Rs 13.09 lakh. MG has commenced the reservation for this model, and interested buyers can pay Rs 11,000 as the booking amount for the Exclusive Pro variant of the Windsor EV. Also, the company has announced that the deliveries of this variant will start in the first week of June this year.
MG Windsor Exclusive Pro variant
The MG Windsor Exclusive Pro variant misses out on the ADAS Level 2 suite, which is the main highlight of the Essence Pro variant. It also does not get V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) capabilities, panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting.
Apart from this, the rest of the features will be retained. These include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging pads, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, automatic climate control and cruise control.
The MG Windsor Pro comes equipped with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. This variant offers a certified range of 449 km. On the other hand, the standard Windsor EV gets a 38 kWh battery pack, which provides a range of 331 km. Both variants come with the same front-wheel-powering electric motor, which makes 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
