7 New Mass Market SUVs Launching Over The Next 4 Months: Hyundai Alcazar Facelift To Tata Curvv ICE

The upcoming months will be very exciting for the Indian automotive market. This is because a ton of different automakers are gearing up for the launches of their highly anticipated cars. So without any delay, let’s jump into the list of all the cars coming in the next four months.
First up on this list is the Hyundai Alcazar Facelift. The company is gearing up for the launch of this SUV on September 9, 2024. This time around, it will be bringing a host of design and feature updates. The exterior now boasts H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) connected by a light bar, a larger grille with horizontal slats, and redesigned rear tail lamps.
The interior now features dual 10.25-inch infotainment screens, a digital instrument cluster, and a new dual-tone tan and navy blue theme. The facelift will also introduce advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and cooled rear seats, along with popular features like ventilated front seats and a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof.
As for the powertrain, the Alcazar facelift will continue to offer the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The petrol engine delivers 160 bhp and 253 Nm of torque and will be available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The diesel variant, on the other hand, offers 116 bhp and 250 Nm. It will come paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. These updates are expected to slightly increase the pricing, which currently ranges between Rs 16 lakh and Rs 21 lakh.
JSW MG Motor is also gearing up to launch the Windsor EV, their affordable electric crossover, on September 11, 2024. This model, as we all are aware, is a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV from Indonesia. It features a sleek and minimalist design with flush door handles and modern LED lighting.
On the inside, the Windsor EV gets a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will be the largest in any MG car in India. Additional features include a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic glass roof, and advanced safety systems like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.
Powering the Windsor EV is a 50.6 kWh battery pack. As per the company, it will be offering a claimed range of 460 km. Pricing is expected to start around Rs 20 lakh.
Tata Motors, which recently launched the Curvv EV in India, is also set to launch the ICE version of its Curvv SUV on September 2, 2024. The Curvv ICE will compete in the compact SUV segment. Its main highlight will be its sloping roofline. Apart from this, it will also get Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and other premium features on the inside.
The upcoming Curvv ICE will offer three engine options. These will include a new 1.2-litre TGDI turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from Nexon, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
It will become the first in its segment to offer a DCT automatic with a diesel engine. It is expected to get a starting price of around Rs 17.49 lakh.
The Japanese carmaker Nissan is set to launch the Magnite facelift by the end of this year. This popular budget SUV will feature subtle design updates, including redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels, a new front bumper, and possibly revised headlights.
It is believed that the facelifted model might offer a new single-piece sunroof on the inside and a slightly updated interior. The Magnite will continue to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It will be available in naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants.
The naturally aspirated engine could produce 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the turbocharged version could offer 99 bhp and 160 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a CVT for the turbo variant. It is expected to be launched at Rs 6 lakh.
MG Motor is preparing to launch the Gloster facelift in the festive season of 2024. The updated full-size SUV will feature design updates, including a revised front grille with horizontal slats and dual-pod vertical projector LED headlamps.
It will also get new LED DRLs aligned with the bonnet. The SUV will retain its boxy profile, with flared wheel arches, 19-inch alloy wheels, and twin-tip exhausts. The interior will see updates like a redesigned dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and an updated climate control panel.
The Gloster will continue with its existing 2.0-litre diesel engine options. It will be offered with both single-turbo and twin-turbo variants. The single-turbo engine will produce 161 bhp and 375 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the twin-turbo variant will offer 215 bhp and 480 Nm. It will come paired with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The twin-turbo version also includes a 4WD option. The facelifted Gloster is expected to start around Rs 40 lakh.
Mahindra has been relentlessly working on the development of the new XUV 3XO EV. The XUV400 replacement will be launched by the end of 2024. The XUV 3XO EV will feature a 34.5 kWh battery pack. It is expected to get a starting price of Rs 15 lakh. Once launched, it will be competing with the Tata Nexon EV in India.
Tata Motors is also working on the launch of the Nexon iCNG in late 2024. This variant will directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG, which currently leads the CNG sub-compact SUV segment. The Nexon iCNG is expected to retain the design and features of its petrol and diesel counterparts. It will feature the innovative twin-cylinder CNG kit from Tata Motors.
