The festive season is about to start, and car manufacturers have already begun preparing for it. This is the time when people start planning to buy new cars or upgrade to a better vehicle. For all those customers looking for new cars, here’s some good news. In September, we will see new models being launched in the market. What are these new models? Here’s a list of them.
This month, we witnessed the launch of Tata’s all-new Curvv.ev in the market. Bookings for the electric coupe SUV have already started, and deliveries have begun as well. During the launch, Tata mentioned that they would release the Curvv ICE version on September 2.
The Curvv will have a similar design and features as the electric version. The SUV comes with not one but two petrol engine options. There is a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged engine and a brand new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder T-GDI engine, which is part of Tata’s Hyperion series. Additionally, the Curvv also comes with a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine. All these engine options will be offered with both manual and DCA gearbox options.
Hyundai officially revealed the pictures of the upcoming Alcazar facelift yesterday. The SUV now features Creta-inspired styling at the front, with several elements that differentiate it from the Creta. The SUV continues to be a three-row vehicle with options for captain and bench seats for the middle-row passengers.
The Alcazar will continue to be offered with the same engine options. It will be available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. Both these options will come with 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic transmission options, respectively. A manual transmission is also available with this SUV. Hyundai will officially launch the Alcazar SUV on September 9.
The first launch from MG after its partnership with JSW will be the Windsor EV. MG calls it a crossover or CUV. It is actually a rebranded version of the Wuling Cloud EV, sold in Indonesia. From the teaser images, we know that the electric crossover will feature airplane-style seats with a 135-degree recline.
Internationally, the Windsor EV is offered with a 50.6 kWh battery pack. It remains to be seen if we will get something similar or a smaller 37.9 kWh battery pack. MG is planning to price the Windsor EV competitively, and there are confirmed reports that it will be priced under ₹20 lakh. The Windsor will be launched on September 11.
Maruti launched the all-new Swift a few months ago, and now, it is time for the next-generation Dzire sedan. The car has been spotted testing on the road several times. We know that Maruti will make minor changes to the design to ensure it looks different from the hatchback. It would also be the first sedan in the segment to get an electric sunroof.
It will be powered by the same 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z-series engine as the Swift. It will be offered with manual and AMT gearbox options. The all-new Maruti Dzire sedan is expected to be launched sometime in September.
