Renault’s next big launch in India will be the all-new Duster. The SUV has had a cult following here. The new Duster will be a complete departure from the previous model, which was on sale here. But thanks to the nameplate’s huge popularity, news of the Duster making a comeback has already sparked anticipation. Earlier this year, the carmaker launched the new-generation Duster in Australia. A brochure from the Australian market gives us a detailed look at its colour palette there, many shades of which are to be expected on the India-spec as well.

In Australia, the SUV is offered in seven colour options. These are Solid White, Khaki Green, Pearlescent Black, Terracotta, Cedar Green, Sandstone, and Shadow Grey. These highlight the SUV’s rugged character. Let’s see them in detail...

Khaki Green

This is in fact, a muted Olive shade. It highlights the off-road-ready and rugged character of the Duster. Moreover, the SUV’s character lines and smooth line are well projected in this colour. This colour, however, doesn’t cry for attention and keeps things subtle and understated. Many will even feel this colour to be inspired by the Military Green shade.

Cedar Green

The second shade of Green in the Duster’s palette is the Cedar Green. This is a deeper, richer shade. It is seemingly inspired by Forest Green. Think of it as a darker shade of the Pewter Olive that is available on the Kia Seltos. This colour makes the Duster look both rugged and refined. It goes well with the Black trims and inserts on the new Duster’s exterior design.

Solid White

When launched in India, many would want the new Duster to be available in White. The carmaker offers a Solid White in Australia. This paint makes it look clean and classic. The Duster’s strong body lines and clean panels look well in this colour.

Pearlescent Black

In this option, the vehicle comes finished in Black and gets a Pearl finish. Black makes the vehicle look sleek and sophisticated. It can, however, gather a lot of dirt and dust.

Sandstone

This ‘earthy’ colour has been inspired by the hues of a desert. It sits somewhere between Beige and Bronze. There is an air of elegance to this shade. It is currently rare to find a shade like this in the Indian mid-size SUV space. The Sandstone, if brought to our shores, can attract a lot of interest.

Shadow Grey

This colour is for people who want a cool-looking dark-themed SUV. The Duster looks good in this shade as well. More importantly, despite being dark, this colour doesn’t project dirt on the vehicle as much as Black does. It is thus a practical choice.

Terracotta

Compared to most other colours, the Terracotta is a relatively loud shade. It is thus not for everyone, as it makes the design shouty. People who prefer to have their rides in vibrant hues will prefer this shade.

The company has already begun testing the third-generation Duster in India. It will have a completely new take on design compared to the old model. The new SUV will have bold, boxy proportions and will come with a bold grille, Y-shaped LED DRLs, bigger wheels, new LED tail lamps, squared wheel arches, and fresh-looking bumpers. It will have high ground clearance as well. On the Australia-spec, it goes up to 212 mm.
