New Honda Amaze: Fresh TVC Out

Honda launched the third-generation Amaze sedan in India in December 2024. It had an introductory starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh, valid for 45 days from launch. The carmaker had previously released a few TV commercials (TVCs) for the sedan, building public interest and enthusiasm around it. Now another ad has surfaced, which shows the making of the new Amaze and also talks about Honda’s commitment to the Indian market.
The commercial shows how the sedan is made at the Honda plant, along with the various quality checks done on each unit and standards maintained in manufacturing. It also talks about how the new Amaze is a perfect fit for the modern Indian buyer, who is constantly evolving and chasing new heights. Passion, pride of not compromising and the practice of always keeping customers in mind- all go into the making of every Amaze out there.
The sedan has been here since 2013 and in a way, stood the test of time. Even when multiple other compact sedans faded over the years, it stood firm-footed along with the strongest rival- Maruti Dzire. The upper hand it had was that there has always been a premium air to it- an air that was loud about ‘not being a taxi’! Coming back to the film, you get to see interesting manufacturing visuals with a compelling narrative.
The new generation Amaze comes in 3 variants- V, VX and ZX. It is larger than the Amaze it replaces. The length and width have increased, generating more room inside the cabin. The front fascia has been completely redesigned. It borrows cues from the City and Elevate. There are 6 exterior colours on offer. The sedan features a larger hexagonal-pattern gloss black grille (Elevate-like), a thick Chrome bar, dual LED pod headlamps, and a new bumper with good-looking housings for the LED fog lamps.
The rear design would remind you of the City. There are LED tail lamps and a new bumper. The body lines, creases and embellishments are all vocal about the size of the car. The previous generation Amaze had C-shaped LED tail lamps. The new car, however, comes with larger, sleeker units that resemble those on the City.
Honda has completely revamped the interior of the new Amaze. It now sports a stylish black-and-beige colour theme and a more upmarket appeal. The overall layout and styling take inspiration from the Honda Elevate.
A key highlight is the new free-standing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which comes paired with a 6-speaker surround sound system. The sedan also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also offers automatic climate control with a button layout similar to the Elevate, a wireless charger, a PM 2.5 air filter for better air quality, and connected car technology.
For the first time in the Amaze’s history, Honda has introduced rear AC vents on the third-gen car. Another notable addition is that of Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). There is no 360 camera, but you do get a Lane watch camera on higher variants.
Under the hood, the new Amaze continues with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as its predecessor. It delivers 90hp and 110Nm. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. The CVT variant also comes with paddle shifters, similar to those seen in the Honda City. Honda has also reworked the suspension setup to provide a better balance between ride comfort and handling.
