The Japanese automotive giant Honda has seen success with its newest SUV, the Elevate, in India. So after seeing this glimpse of glimmer, it has been reported that the company is set to introduce six new cars and SUVs over the next few years. If you are one of those car buyers who loves Honda’s refinement and reliability, here are the details of these upcoming vehicles, which will surely pique your interest.

Honda Amaze (Early 2025)

The first car on the launch roster for Honda is the next-generation Amaze. This popular sub-compact sedan is slated for an early 2025 release. It will be the only new model Honda plans to introduce in India before 2027. This time around, it will feature updated design elements and a much more improved interior quality.

At the moment, the exact powertrain details of the new Honda Amaze have not been revealed. However, most likely it will retain the same powertrain as the outgoing model. Currently, the Amaze comes equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.

Honda Elevate EV

The company, after witnessing the successful launch of the Honda Elevate, is set to introduce an electric version of this SUV. The Elevate EV, part of the ‘ACE’ (Asian Compact Electric) project, is expected to hit the market in the coming years.

Honda’s broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle lineup includes the launch of this SUV in India. The Elevate EV will likely feature a decently large battery pack, offering a range of around 450-500 km. However, the exact details have not been revealed.

All-New 7-Seat SUV Based on PF2 Platform (2027)

New Honda SUV coming

Honda is also gearing up to launch a flagship 7-seat SUV in 2027. It will be built on the all-new PF2 platform. This three-row SUV will be positioned above the Elevate, and it will target families looking for spacious and versatile vehicles.

The PF2 platform is designed to support both ICE and hybrid powertrains, meaning that it is likely to offer a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a strong hybrid option.

The SUV’s design and development involve significant input from Honda’s Japan and Thailand R&D centers. As per the reports, India will be the primary market for this upcoming flagship SUV. Production is scheduled to begin in October 2027.

All-New Honda City on PF2 Platform (2028)

Honda will also be giving its current flagship sedan, the iconic City, a major overhaul with the introduction of the next-generation model in 2028. It will also be built on the versatile PF2 platform. The sixth-generation City will debut with a naturally aspirated petrol engine and a hybrid variant.

This new model, as per the reports, will feature a radical redesign with fresh styling and a new design language. Production is expected to commence in May 2028. No details about the powertrain have been revealed as of yet.

New Sub-4 Meter Compact SUV on PF2 Platform (Early 2029)

Following the new Honda City, the Japanese automotive giant in early 2029 has plans to introduce a new sub-4 meter compact SUV. It will also be based on the PF2 platform. This compact SUV is set to cater to the highly competitive segment dominated by models such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue.

Although specific details about the powertrain are not yet available, it is anticipated that the SUV will feature Honda’s 1.5-liter petrol engine. The compact SUV will offer a practical and stylish design.

Another EV (2029)

Honda SUV concept for global market

The last new car in Honda’s plan is the introduction of a second EV in 2029. This new EV, likely an SUV positioned below the Elevate EV, will be built on the PF2 platform. Unlike the Elevate EV, which is part of the ACE project, this new model will be an entirely new addition to Honda’s electric portfolio. It will likely compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in India.
