New Maruti DZire Launch Date Revealed
The next big launch from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is the all-new Dzire. We knew the newest iteration of the compact sedan would go on sale sometime after Diwali 2024. Now, we have the official launch date: The carmaker will introduce the new sedan on November 11, 2024.
New Maruti Dzire To Look Different From Swift
The new Dzire will have a completely new design. Previous image leaks also suggested a distinct visual identity that would be a departure from the ‘Swift with a boot’ image. It will be based on the new generation Swift. On design grounds, however, it will have minimal resemblance to the hatchback.
Expect a new front fascia with a large blacked-out horizontally slatted grille with Chrome touches, fresh-looking headlamps with black bezels, new bumpers, new alloy wheels, and stylish wraparound LED tail lamps. Unlike its predecessor, the boot will blend neatly with the rest of the body. The sedan will be wider and have better proportions. The bodywork will feature more angular creases in certain areas of design.
Expected Changes On The Inside
The interior will get a major revamp. It will have a new theme to it and use more premium trims and materials. The overall design could stand similar to the one on the hatchback. The new Dzire will likely get a single-pane sunroof- a first in its history. It will also become the first in its segment to come with one.
Other features to be expected on the new car are a 360-degree camera, a larger 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, a Head-Up Display, and automatic climate control. It will likely have an analogue instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch digital MID. Some reports also suggest that the higher variants could come with ADAS as well. We lack clarity on it yet.
Expected Powertrains
The new Swift and Dzire share a lot in terms of powertrain. The new sedan will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine as the new Swift. It would be the first time that Dzire gets a three-pot powerhouse. The transmission options will include a manual and an AMT. There will be a CNG version to the car as well which will come with a manual transmission alone.
If reports are to be believed, the new Dzire could get hybrid technology in the future. The manufacturer has already revealed its intentions to roll out pure hybrids in the future. It will work towards democratizing futuristic tech like Series Hybrids. The Fronx will be among the first to get a series hybrid version and the Dzire could join the clan soon. The Dzire hybrid is expected to be powered by a hybridized Z12E engine.
New Dzire Bookings Could Start Soon
Maruti Suzuki could start accepting bookings for the new DZire in the coming weeks, as the launch is fast approaching. The deliveries will likely start by mid-November. In the Indian market, the new sedan will battle the likes of Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
The Honda Amaze, the strongest rival to the new Dzire, is expected to get a major update soon. The new Amaze will have its world premiere in the coming months. Once it joins the game, the competition in the compact sedan space will further intensify.
