Colour options: The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq will have a revised colour palette. There will be seven monotone exterior colour options- Velvet Red, Race Blue, Graphite Grey, Magic Black, Moon White, Bronx Gold and Steel Grey. Bronx Gold is limited to the L&K trim while th/e Steel Grey comes just on the Sportline.

Two Cabin Colourways: The new SUV will offer two distinct cabin colourways-varying across trims. The L&K will have a Black-Tan colour scheme while the Sportline will come with a full-black interior. In both cases, the interior will feature generous use of high-quality materials and thoughtful design touches.

Specifications: The India-spec Kodiaq will house a powerful engine under its hood. Globally, the SUV offers multiple powertrain options including a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and a 2.0-litre diesel. The Indian model, however, is likely to stick to a single petrol engine- mostly the 2.0TSI engine that powers the Volkswagen Tiguan.

There are, however, unconfirmed reports that say that the Kodiaq will bring back the diesel engine in the Indian market. This engine will be mated to a Volkswagen-sourced 7-speed DSG transmission. The vehicle will also come with a 4x4 suite.

The new Kodiaq sits on an updated MQB EVO platform. It is thus larger than the predecessor, and hosts more room inside.

Design Changes: In terms of design, the new Kodiaq will have sharper styling and better road presence. Expect a redesigned front fascia with an improved grille design, new split LED headlights, a revised bumper, and broader central air intakes.

Other design elements to expect are C-shaped air curtains, clean, sculpted side panels, prominent wheel arches, muscular bonnet lines, raked windshield, new 20-inch alloy wheels, redesigned LED tail lamps, amd a refreshed tailgate. The rear bumper has also been updated.

Interior And Features: Skoda has loaded the new Kodiaq with several advanced features to keep it modern and comfortable. It will get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s also a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver.

Inside, you’ll also find dual wireless phone chargers, paddle shifters, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, and keyless entry. The 13-speaker Canton sound system adds to the premium feel. The front seats are electrically adjustable with memory, ventilation, and extended thigh support. Second-row passengers benefit from sliding and reclining seats, three-zone climate control, and rear sunshades.

Safety kit: Skoda hasn’t cut corners on safety either. The new Kodiaq comes with nine airbags as standard. It also includes electronic stability control, traction control, ABS with EBD, hill hold, and hill descent control. The SUV further adds Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which helps enhance driver awareness and safety on Indian roads.

Launch date, rivals and details: The new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to hit showrooms by the second half of April. The market launch will take place on April 17, 2025. The SUV will be assembled locally, and the prices are likely to start around 42 lakh and go up to 45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec. Once launched, the new Kodiaq will take on rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, and the upcoming MG Majestor.
