The Venue is currently the second best-selling Hyundai car in India, with Creta taking the first spot. It was originally launched in 2019 and was given a significant facelift in 2022. Now, news has it that Hyundai is working on a generational update to the popular SUV. The first test mule sightings are now out, pointing at interesting changes incoming. The new model is expected to be out in 2025. The spy pictures come courtesy of ‘Healer TV’.

What To Expect On The 2025 Hyundai Venue?

The vehicle in these spy shots is heavily camouflaged. However, a few areas of design can be seen in these. The new Venue will come with extensive restyling on both the exterior and inside the cabin. Some of these changes are visible in the leaked pictures. The new SUV is expected to get a completely reworked front fascia. It will have a completely new grille design, which is slightly visible in these pictures. The new grille will feature hollow rectangular elements, instead of the solid ones on the outgoing model.

The bumpers will witness significant overhauls. The front bumper will have a Silver skid plate. The vehicle will get new lighting elements as well, including a new pair of headlamps. The LED DRLs on the test mule resemble the ones on the Casper EV. While the pictures here give no clue about it, the next-gen Venue could also feature Inster-like Piano Black exterior trims.

Very little of the rear end is seen in spy images. These suggest that the new Venue will likely come with a reworked tailgate, new rear bumpers and a fresh-looking tail lamp cluster, Parts of the tail lamps can be seen in the video. They look interesting for the vehicle’s proportions.

The spy shots also reveal the vehicle’s front bumper to have a LIDAR and the front windshield getting what looks like a camera. This hints at the possibility of the 2025 Hyundai Venue getting level 2 ADAS. At present, the vehicle is offered with level 1 ADAS alone. It gets just Forward collision warning, Lane departure warning, Forward collision avoidance assist, Lane keeping assist, Lane following assist, Driver attention warning, Leading vehicle departure alert, and High beam assist. The generational update will likely add steering-based ADAS functions to the list.

The mule was seen riding on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. These had a low-drag design and wore 215/60 MRF tyres. The overall silhouette seems to stand close to that of the outgoing model. It could thus be the case that the new Venue centres its changes on the details and not the shape at large.

As suggested by the spy shots, the cabin is set to receive a major upgrade on the new model. It will likely have new seats with wider headrests. The interior theme is also expected to change. The dashboard section is not visible in the current images. Considering the industry trends, it would be safe to expect it to get the ‘connected dual screens’ setup, along with more features than before.

Sources also say that the new Venue would get a panoramic sunroof. It seems logical to expect this, considering the fact that its rivals like the XUV 3XO and recently updated Nexon get this feature. (For easy identification, Nexon variants with the prefix ‘PS’ in their names get this feature). Currently, the Venue offers just a single-pane sunroof.

Very little is expected to change on the mechanical side. The new Venue will most likely carry forward the SUV’s current powertrains- 1.0 turbo-petrol, 1.5 diesel and 1.2 NA petrol. Diesels have lately been facing strong resistance owing to the upcoming emission norm concerns. However, Hyundai will most likely retain the 1.5 oil burner that produces 116 hp and 250 Nm.

The current generation doesn’t get a diesel automatic powertrain, as only a 6-speed manual gearbox is offered on this engine. It remains to be seen if the upcoming generation will get this fixed. Its Kia cousin, the Sonet, offers the choice of a diesel automatic powertrain that is selling well.

Manufacturing And Launch Timelines

The carmaker is expected to start production of the next-generation Venue, currently codenamed QU2i, around October next year. It will be manufactured at the Talegaon factory, recently acquired from GM. It will be the first product to be made in this facility
