Hyundai is working on several new models for India as well as international markets, and their premium hatchback i20 is one among them. Hyundai is testing the next-generation i20 internationally, and we have already started seeing spy pictures of the model. Based on these images, we now have a set of digitally rendered illustrations that show how the upcoming next-generation Hyundai i20 might look.

The image has been shared on Behance by Kleber Silva. The render is based on the spy pictures, and we must say that the artist has done a good job.

The front of the car is inspired by modern Hyundai models, following the brand’s latest design philosophy. At the front, it gets a new set of sleek-looking headlamps with LED DRLs on top. These are dual-function units, and we can also see Hyundai’s logo on the bonnet.

The bonnet gets multiple character lines, while the front grille features a Tucson-like parametric design. There is a white strip running across the bonnet, connecting the DRLs, although it is unclear whether this is an LED element like the one seen on the Creta.

Moving down to the bumper, it gets a sporty and sophisticated look with black plastic inserts in between. We do not see fog lamps in the render, although the test mule did have them. The render also shows a radar along with a 360-degree camera and sensors on the front windshield, which could be a sign that the next-gen i20 might come equipped with ADAS features.

The side profile of the car looks similar to the current-generation model. However, we feel the actual production car might have a slightly different design. Even the wheels shown in the render are different from those spotted on the test mules.

The render also shows the rear, which appears to be derived from the current-generation i20. It features clear-lens tail lamps connected by an LED bar. The lower half of the bumper is finished in black, adding to its sporty appeal. The interior of the next-generation i20 will also get updates. It will get a new layout, larger screen, fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, electric single pane or panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery and so on.

The images seen here are only renders and purely the result of the artist’s imagination. The actual car may look different. As for the next-gen i20, it is likely to be offered with both ICE and hybrid options.

An EV variant could also be considered in the future. For now, the hatchback is expected to make its international debut in the second half of 2026, followed by a launch in India.

Hyundai is expected to offer the i20 with a 1.2-litre strong-hybrid turbocharged petrol engine, alongside a regular petrol engine. Like all Hyundai models, the i20 will likely come with a long list of features, and it is expected to be priced aggressively as well.
