After the successful launch of the BE6 and the XEV 9E, Mahindra is now working on a new-generation Mahindra Bolero. The Bolero is actually the longest-running model in the Mahindra lineup, and it has not received any major update since its launch. Mahindra announced that they will be launching a new platform on August 15 this year, and based on the reports available online, it is pretty clear that the next-generation Bolero will be one of the first SUVs to get this platform.

We recently came across a bunch of spy pictures of the next-generation Bolero, and based on those images, we have created a rendered image that shows how the production version of the next-gen Bolero could look.

The images are based on the spy pictures that recently surfaced online. The upcoming Mahindra Bolero will retain the boxy design as it gives it a much more utilitarian look. However, Mahindra might try a different approach this time. It looks like the Indian manufacturer might add a bit of premium elements to the car to make it more appealing to customers.

It is also possible that Mahindra might sell this new Bolero alongside the older generation model, just as they are doing with the Scorpio. Coming to the render, the artist has given the Bolero G-Wagen-like round headlamps with ring-type LED DRLs in them. The headlamps look like projector units, and the blacked-out grille with vertical slats adds to the muscle.

The bumper of the Bolero also gets a muscular touch with LED fog lamps integrated into it. As we move to the side profile, the car gets thick cladding around the squared wheel arches, and there is a footboard for easy ingress and egress. The alloy wheels on this render are a 5-spoke unit, finished in black.

The Bolero render also gets large doors with pull-type door handles. It should be noted that the test mule was spotted with flush-type door handles. It was also missing a roof railing, which can be seen here in the digital render.

Coming to the rear, we see the boxy design with a spare wheel mounted on the rear door. There is a high-mounted stop lamp, and we also see vertically stacked LED tail lamps on the rear fender. The rear bumper is finished in black, and there are reflectors on the bumper too.

The front end of the Bolero render looks slightly like the Jeep Renegade SUV, and it looks more muscular than before. It is quite possible that the SUV that was recently spotted testing is a replacement for the Bolero Neo, which was introduced in the market a few years ago.

The images seen here are digital renders and were created by an artist using his imagination. The production version of the next-generation Bolero might be entirely different from what is seen here. Mahindra will be using the New Flexible Architecture (NFA) platform on the Bolero. It is actually a brand-new platform that can be used on a range of petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains. An electric version of the Bolero based on the same platform might also come to market in the future.
