The Mahindra Bolero is one of the most popular models currently on sale from the brand. This SUV is mainly popular amongst rural buyers; however, soon things could change. Over the last few months, a new test mule of what is believed to be the next-generation Bolero has been spotted at frequent intervals. Most recently, another test mule of the upcoming Bolero was spotted, and it now looks even more production-ready than before. Here are all the details.

Upcoming Mahindra Bolero spotted again: New details

Exterior design

First off, let's start with the exterior design of the upcoming new Bolero. At the front, the main highlight of the new Bolero is the adoption of Mahindra Thar ROXX-like circular LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. This marks the end of the iconic rectangular lights, which have been a part of the Bolero since its inception.

Apart from the headlights, the front also gets a brand-new grille with six vertical slats. The centre will house the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. As for the lower section, eagle-eyed viewers will note that the SUV has a rectangular opening in the lower bumper, and at its centre is the ADAS Level 2 sensor, as seen on the XUV700 and the Thar ROXX.

Overall, the front has a very macho, squared-off appearance, which gives this SUV a bold look. Moving on to the side profile, we can see that the upcoming Mahindra Bolero will get dual-tone 10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and rugged, squared-off claddings.

The window line is straight, and the SUV also gets a strong shoulder line. Other notable highlights include an integrated side step, which will make ingress and egress easier for occupants. At the rear, the SUV will get a spare tyre mounted on the tailgate, LED taillights, and a bold bumper with reverse parking sensors and most likely a reverse camera.

Interior

The latest spy shots give us a slightly better look at the interior of the new Mahindra Bolero. We can see that the interior of this particular test mule is leagues above the current Bolero. It looks a lot more modern and feature-packed. It has an XUV700-style multifunction steering wheel, a new instrument gauge cluster, and modern-looking buttons on the dashboard.

We can expect Mahindra to offer a large infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and many other features. In terms of safety, it is expected that the SUV will get six airbags, a rearview camera, speed alert, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, EBD, and a traction control system.

Powertrain options

Mahindra will most likely retain the same powertrain from the Bolero Neo for the new Bolero. It is a 1.5-litre diesel motor that makes 100 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. A five-speed gearbox will handle the transmission duties, and the vehicle will get a rear-wheel-drive configuration like the current model. It is believed that Mahindra will launch the new Bolero on August 15 at its major annual event.
