Nissan, for a long time, has been selling only one product — the Magnite sub-compact SUV — in India. However, the company is now aiming to capture a bigger chunk of the Indian automotive market. For this, it has lined up three new vehicles, and now the timelines for these launches have been confirmed. So, without any delay, here are the details of the upcoming Nissan cars.

Nissan’s Triber-based Affordable MPV – Early 2026

The first new model from Nissan to be launched in India will be the Renault Triber-based affordable seven-seater MPV. This model will utilise the same CMF-A+ platform as the Triber. In terms of design, Nissan, like always, will make it a bit more flamboyant. The teaser image revealed that it will get a large hexagonal grille, LED headlights, and DRLs.

It will also get C-shaped silver bumper inserts, pronounced roof rails, and a slightly changed interior design. As for the powertrain, the Nissan seven-seater SUV will be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor making 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Nissan will be launching the Triber-based sub-compact MPV by early 2026. Expect it to start at Rs 6.5 lakh.

Nissan Tekton Mid-size SUV – Mid 2026

Nissan recently revealed the final production version’s design of the Tekton mid-size SUV. Like the Triber-based MPV, the Tekton will also be a badge-engineered model and will be based on the Renault Duster, which might be launched this year in India. The Tekton, in terms of design, will boast a premium, futuristic, and Nissan Patrol flagship SUV-like exterior design.

Its main highlights will be its C-shaped LED DRLs, sleek horizontally stacked LED headlights, large trapezoidal grille, squared-off wheel arches with chunky claddings, integrated roof rails and multispoke alloy wheels, connected C-shaped LED taillights, and a spoiler.

As for the features, it will get a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and a 6-speaker sound system. As for safety, it will come with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold, and ADAS Level 2. Powertrain options will include a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine making 153 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

It might also get a 1.2-litre mild hybrid, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as well. In the future, the company will also offer a strong hybrid powertrain. As for the launch timeline, it is expected to make its debut in India around mid-2026. Pricing could be in the range of Rs 10.5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Following the launch of the five-seater Tekton, the company will also launch the extended wheelbase seven-seater variant of the Tekton in India. This SUV will get an additional third row of seats in the rear. Design-wise, it may offer some alterations to help differentiate between the two siblings.

It is expected to launch in India by early 2027. Once launched, it will compete with the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Kia Carens. Pricing is expected to start at Rs 15 lakh and could go up to Rs 23 lakh.
