Recently, it was announced by the French automaker Renault that it intends to buy the remaining 51 percent stake in Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd. This will make Renault the sole owner of the Chennai plant. Apart from the struggles, the company is also withdrawing from many joint ventures in international markets as well. Recently it was announced that Honda which was about to partner to Nissan had pulled out of the venture.
