Made-In-India Nissan Magnite Heading To 65 Countries: First Shipment On Its Way

Nissan India recently launched its sub-compact SUV Magnite’s facelift. Now, it has been announced by the company that it has also commenced the export of this popular SUV to 65 countries. It has also announced that these new models are left-hand-drive models for markets like Latin America, the Middle East, and others. Prior to this, the exports of the right-hand-drive models had already started back in November of last year.

According to Nissan India, in the first batch, it exported a total of 2,900 units of the newly facelifted Magnite in the month of January. It has also announced that by the end of February, it will be exporting an additional 7,100 units, resulting in total exports of 10,000 units. As mentioned, these left-hand-drive models will be exported to markets in Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Asia-Pacific.

Nissan’s “One Car, One World” philosophy will help India in becoming a major export hub. As for the production of these new left-hand-drive models, they are produced at Nissan’s Chennai, Tamil Nadu, plant and are exported via the Kamarajar Port (Ennore). Most likely, the number of units exported by Nissan will increase in the coming months.

Nissan Magnite Facelift

As mentioned, the most recent shipment of 2,100 units of the Magnite consists of left-hand-drive models. However, apart from the new position of the steering column, the rest of the design layout and features remain the same. The newly facelifted Magnite sub-compact SUV in India was launched back in October of last year.

It is currently being offered in India in six variants. These are Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+. As for the pricing, the Magnite starts at Rs 6.12 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 11.88 lakh. The newly facelifted model, in terms of changes, comes with a set of new headlights, a larger front grille with more intricate detailing, and two prominent chrome inserts outlining the fascia.

The new Magnite also gets a slightly retouched bonnet design, L-shaped LED DRLs, and a new front bumper with a large skid plate and silver finisher. Additionally, it gets a set of new 6-spoke, 16-inch, dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. As for the rear, the taillights have been slightly redesigned, and so has the rear bumper. It also gets an integrated spoiler as well.

On the inside, the new Magnite gets an Orange (Sunrise Orange Copper) and Black colorway. Its list of features includes a new larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a new 6-speaker (4+2) ARKEMYS premium audio system on offer. The 8-inch touchscreen now gets a floating design and looks good. There is also a new 7-inch configurable TFT digital driver display.

The new Magnite facelift also comes equipped with wireless phone charging, 4-color ambient lighting, a cooled glove box with a 10L capacity, a cluster ionizer, connected car tech, and OTA updates. Other features include remote start, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated seats for the driver and co-passenger, auto headlamps, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a 360-degree camera.

Nissan offers the new model with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The former makes 72 bhp and 96 Nm of torque and comes with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

Meanwhile, the latter makes 100 bhp of power and 160 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a 5-speed manual as well as an optional CVT gearbox. The manual variants offer 20 kmpl mileage, and the CVT variants offer 17.4 kmpl.
